Krishna Is the Eighth Avatar of Vishnu

It's interesting that the once benevolent and generous gesture of giving a hand to those we determined to be the most needy world-wide, has now shed all pretenses and morphed into outright extortion.

I just finished watching the most delicious French comedy ever “My Best Friend” (’07) which contained the line, “You mean you pay to have people like you?” It sums up our progression from spontaneous giving, through paying for sex, to blackmail and extortion.

Speaking of movies, if there is still any doubt that there is a fifth column in this country that spares no expense in helping to create the impression that America is evil and must be defeated by any means possible in order to save the planet, that doubt can be put to rest with James Cameron’s AVATAR.

Over the years, Hollywood has always been very successful in creating powerfully persuasive fantasies that pit good against evil. Within a span of the past 50 years it has worked hard to define the antagonists. On one side is America; on the other is the rest of the world. America itself stands divided and is perched precariously on the cusp. It is within the private chambers of every American heart that the conflict will eventually be resolved.

AVATAR, stokes the notion that America is the single most potent destructive force on the planet. Visually, it employs the racial aspects of the tension. It hails a kind of back-to-the-earth tribalism as the answer to saving the planet or, in a larger sense, saving mankind’s soul. As such, it justifies any attack on the white man’s hegemony as warranted and totally acceptable. To Hollywood (by an extension of the logic) the shoe and the panty bombers are visionary new-age heroes.

This movie should do especially well in the Middle East, in Africa, Asia and South America. Though we have a significant number of domestic self-haters amongst us, most of the American movie-going public will recognize that it is they who are under assault by the predictable propagandists for the no-boundaries Left. Let’s put it in context: If during WWII, Hollywood had turned out movies such as AVATAR, we all would now be speaking German and eating Bratwurst. There would be no more Jews, Gypsies and whoever else Hitler might have set his sights on.

After the movie was over, my son remarked that AVATAR had the exact same plot of every movie he’s ever seen in the past ten years. This is a shame. Hollywood has everything it could possibly want at its disposal. Yet, it’s been working so doggedly to cheapen itself and ultimately bring about its own destruction. It used to be that ‘propaganda’ was a dirty word. At least, it was when I was growing up. Now there are galleries in Manhattan and on college campuses celebrating Soviet-era propaganda as high art.

No doubt, depending on who ultimately wins this fight, either AVATAR or Mel Gibson’s APOCALYPTO (AVATAR’s exact ideological opposite) will some day be celebrated as well.

Serious Enough

From the evening of December 24th to the 6th of January it's been a tradition at our house to put electric candles in the windows. We generally turn the candles off at around 12 midnight.

Sometimes, especially around the holidays, my brother comes up on weekends to spend the night. In order to avoid traffic, he generally leaves his house late. When I'm expecting him, I'll still turn off the candles before going to bed, but I'll leave the one in the kitchen window (that’s facing the driveway) on for him. When my brother does arrive in the wee hours of the morning, I can expect him to turn this one off as well.

It has happened that my brother never arrived at all; in which case the kitchen candle is still lit when I get up in the morning. As the temperature outside often drops below freezing at this time of year, there'll be a halo against the frosted window where the candle had shone. It’s the only window - in a house with 27 windows - that exhibits this obvious feature.

Now, one could ignore it altogether; or one could take note of it without being curious; or one could investigate as to why this should be so; say, at nine-thirty in the morning (after all the candles have been turned off). It should be relatively easy to walk it back and reconstruct exactly what happened and why.

I cannot understand this insistence by otherwise intelligent people in our country who continue to claim that Barack Hussein Obama is a friend of the CIA; of the military; of capitalism; of America itself, when indeed all clues point to the contrary. It’s exactly like saying, "we know there’s global warming (because a little birdie told me); now let’s go out there and prove it scientifically. But, oh my! The factual data disproves our theory. What to do now? I know: we’ll simply fudge the data; we’ll outright lie if we have to. One way or another, we’ll prove that there’s global warming and that mankind is the cause of it and that the very exhaled breath of human beings puts the entire planet at risk and therefore 80% of the planet’s people will have to be eliminated; and therefore, for the first time in history we will have managed what has never been done before: justified mass murder on moral grounds. God we’re good!"

Same with Obama. Look at the evidence of all that’s happened since Obama has assumed office. Look at all the stuff that’s come out about him: his beliefs; his associations; his appointments; his actions, past and present. And you still think he’s not a Leftist? A Marxist? A fascist? That he just loves the military, capitalism, freedom and America to death?

So, when things go wrong, we use phrases like ‘amateur’ to describe him; like ‘not ready for prime time’; or if we really feel like being cruel, ‘inept’.

No, folks. It’s deliberate! And we all know it, even if we can’t get ourselves to say it yet. All the evidence is there - iust like the circle on my kitchen window that tells a wider tale. And it’s serious. Serious enough to start thinking about impeachment.

It's Only Words, And Words Is All I Have...

Words can be beautiful or ugly. No doubt, they bear great significance. The Bible tells us, in the beginning was the word. ॐ (Om) is said to be the first sound from which all else began. After a baby is born, it perceives all it sees as a part of itself. Only by naming something does it become separate. So too, we need only to give a name to something to make it go away, or to be able to grasp it, handle and shape it.

We've been reluctant to name the Islamic threat from the beginning. Bush was roundly criticized for his "axis of evil" remarks. Now Barack Hussein Obama seems to have jettisoned his own burden and given it a name: War on Far-Reaching Network of Violence and Hatred (WFNVH).

By abandoning Bush era rhetoric to identify the problem, he has made it his own. Meanwhile, the problem remains unaltered, demanding serious alteration. We will soon find out if Obama has a plan, a strategy, a Plan B. Obviously, we can strike 'appeasement' from the short list of remedies. There are also some things the American people will no longer tolerate.

If in two to three years' time, we find that we're still stuck in the Middle East mud, we will definitely change horses. On the other hand, if we should have solved this conundrum by then, our current president - Marxist or not - will deserve another term. And we will not hesitate to let him have it.

Has anybody noticed that WNVH is broad enough to cover talk show hosts?

Pin the Tail On the Donkey

If I remember correctly, "Hotel California" was an oblique rant against capitalism/consumerism (as most music back then was). As usual, we confused money with class. We watched Bill Clinton, whose presidency made him rich beyond his wildest dreams, utterly disgrace himself. We watched the Bush's - who were rich already - maintain a quiet dignity even under a hail of abuse. We consistently attacked what we thought was the easier target. Today, we have a president who is spending us into oblivion. The Hotel has become the nostalgic, but essentially worthless metaphor in a fire sale. Any house built on a mere body slab has no depth.

Our troubles began when AT&T bought off the old guard with early retirements. Then they rehired diversity by the numbers. It continued when we eased out the old lions on Wall Street with golden parachutes. Then we hired brash young guns and asked them to find new ways of cooking the books. It all worked out so well for us.

It all culminated, of course, with us printing a sign with the word “LEADER" on it and pinning it on the first black man to come down the pike. The only other requirement we were looking for was that he be capable of reading a teleprompter.

Topology of a Nightmare

>What matters is that the Dems have defined the rules of the game in 2001-2008 and now they are going to have to play by them.<

In a normal world this would be so. But this is not in a normal world. At the beginning of 2010, we find ourselves in the fog and chaos of a war, as ever - a war the Conservatives are losing. The media still hasn't flipped. Neither has academe, Wikipedia, the unions, etc. Neither has our ruling class in Washington. ...and they won't. They won't strop until they've confiscated Lou's laptop and broken his fingers. Their desire for revenge will never be mitigated by reason or by what seems fair. Lou does not see this because he is not driven by a boundless hatred as they are. Lou still sees them as people who can be reasoned with.

What they'll do is ignore us and push outrageously ahead. I now know what happened to Limbaugh. He was on vacation and he happened to read the newspaper. He became emotionally overwrought by the administration’s response to the panty bomber. For the first time, perhaps, he was gripped by a palpable fear for his country. No longer would clever partiasn rhetoric stem the looming disaster. It had demonstrably gone beyond. He realized that his words were no longer enough. And even that was denied him by virtue of being on vacation.

Rush was not alone. Savage too was on vacation. He came back to work earlier than planned. He said he felt that at a time like this his listeners needed him. I don’t really think it was quite like that. It was just that Mike needed to vent.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I watched the ball drop on TV last night. The accompanying palaver was rather dour. There was definitely a sense that our country is in deep do-do. There’s no hiding it anymore. What was interesting to me was that no matter what channel I was watching, they weren’t talking about the year that had just passed. Instead they talked about the decade – the lost decade; the ‘decade from hell’ (as some in the print media referred to it).

It’s yet another entirely predictable ploy to absolve Barack Hussein Obama – the media darling of all time – from blame and say it’s all Bush’s fault. In fact, Bush screwed things up so much, not even the messiah will be capable of fixing things (even if he wanted to).

America Watching from the Sidelines

Pundits agonizing over what seems like a flurry of year-end diplomatic activity between sovreign states reflects the current trend of nations on every continent scrambling to re-fashion their alliances in light of U.S abdication of its traditional dominant role. The vacuum that has been created, either by ineptness or intent, since Barack Hussein Obama came to power is beginning to cause global concern. Unease has followed hope and ridicule. America is beginning to be perceived as ‘changed’, quite without the assurance that this change will translate into something better. Quite to the contrary, there is every indication that America is heading for something worse. It is time for the rest of the world to divest itself of its reliance on America’s teat or, at the very least, to begin scouting around for alternatives.

Specifically with respect to Asia, what is happening there is way overdue. Systems of governance should determine which countries should align and which should not. Democracies such as Japan, Australia, Israel, and India would make for a natural alliance. Authoritarian governments, of which China is the biggest in the region, make for an obvious counterpoint. Though some may see the democratic model as messy, history has shown that the democratic template generally yields greater and more profound advances in the long run. A profitable alliance between democracies in the Far East may even convince its non-democratic neighbors to adopt some democratic measures; that is, provided that ideology – often closely linked with corruption - does not cloud the obvious.

Unless America can regain some sense of its former confident self, she will be relegated to watching from the sidelines while the rest of the world advances through the next century.
