Shutdown

Not so fast! Gingrich may have a point. Government shutdown may well be the only answer at this point. It may end up being chaotic. It would send the press howling; the unions demonstrating; the rabble throwing bricks, but who can predict at this point that chaos can be avoided? It’s gone too far already. We have been speeding towards our financial and subsequent political abyss at breakneck speed for more than a year. We’re almost there now. Personally, I think we’ll reach there well before November. No Dem can hope to win without it. You can bet your socks Obama and the Dems are working on something right now. Whatever it is, it will be duly trumpeted and endorsed by the state-controlled media. It will be portrayed as a ‘crisis’ that only the smartest men (Obama, et al) on earth can solve. Elections postponed.

Outrage among the public will build to a fever pitch. Despite what The New York Times says, the people will not believe that the ‘crisis’ is anything other than manufactured for Obama’s benefit. They will have been pushed beyond the edge of reason as they see their only chance for retribution slipping away. This is when the real crisis starts: the revolution.

Now, it is still possible that the Dem’s timetable will not be met – not before November anyway; that Obama will somehow be denied a reason to postpone elections and (in effect) declare a national emergency. This is where Newt comes in. Republicans will have a majority in both houses of congress. They will have the power to shut down government. It will be their only power. It would effectively stop Obama who would presumably still be in office for the next two years.

I believe most Americans would support a government shut-down. They would understand that no governing can take place for as long as Obama remains in office. Most would understand that the runaway train simply has to be stopped, even if just inches away from the washed out bridge; that there will be a need afterwards for some time in which to reflect, gather thoughts and steady nerves; that they had been granted a reprieve – however brief – but a reprieve nonetheless.

Two consecutive years of gridlock governance will be a hell in itself. It’ll require a hunkering down and waiting out the storm. Perhaps, the troops will be withdrawn from overseas and charged with keeping the peace here at home. (On whose orders?) Perhaps the president will be impeached. More troops. Which side will the military take? Will there even be sides to take?

In November, God willing, the train will be stopped. Time will have been bought. What happens next is critical. It will do no good to compromise on this and that and let the train creep forward. The bridge is still out. As long as Obama and his gang are still in office, they can be counted on to sabotage any bridge repairs. Can we afford to lose another two years of governance? Actually, with this bunch in office, we can’t afford to win.

Fearing Fire

Any human interaction involves partners that are not precisely matched in terms of confidence, intelligence, determination, power of personality (aura), etc. It exhibits itself in the weaker mimicking the stronger’s gestures, vocal inflection; and, most commonly, the weaker summarily agreeing (nodding) with what the stronger is saying. The bitch rolls over and submits to the male.

Obama is weak, at home and abroad. He has nothing going for him except a highly suspect ideology. He is propped up by a bitch press and a rag-tag army of malcontents. By sending Obama out on the world to represent our nation, we project weakness. He is incapable of holding his own among men who have actually achieved something – however nefarious – besides winning an election in which only the comatose can be said to have voted. In other words, we are getting fu**ed.

Russia, China, Venezuela, and even Afghanistan have succeeded in publicly humiliating us and bending us to their will. Republicans, historically, have been suffering from a similar disease, rolling over at the drop of a hat. Modern progressives on the Right, RINO’s, Blue Dogs, Moderates, Middle-of-the-Roaders feign shock and outrage at the lack of nuance, bipartisanship, reaching-across-the-aisle, comity, civility, etc. whenever the extended open hand is spat on, and run crying to the media; themselves, a collection of venomous, scribbling paper tigers, horrified by mere fire.

Australopithecine Discovery

Mankind: “Inevitable”; “accidental”? What difference does it make? Just because we’ve learned to write and add and think in linear fashion, we think we’re better than all creation. It speaks to our almost pathetic parochialism. It makes us susceptible to the call of the snake oil salesman who promises utopia, immortality, global warming and who knows what. True, we’ve managed to survive long enough to evolve. To what end? To become entrenched victims of ourselves? To deny the greater power that so obviously sustains us? To debase the significance of our external organs? To think we can manage alone?

Man’s arrogance – based on ignorance – continues to astound me. I don’t quell when a tree is cut down to build a house or a guitar. I don’t swoon at the thought of eating meat. I trust in the laws that govern the universe, the natural cycles of history, the rise and fall of empires; the boom and bust of economies. And I am awed by all of it. Even if I should find myself caught in the destructive end of a cycle, I can hardly complain, knowing that I have been privileged to witness the birth of new shadows. I now know why Hindus worship the cow.

No Compromise

Wrong! How is it possible not to believe!? POTUS believes in nukes alright, but he sees nukes it in terms of weapons to be used AGAINST AMERICA! Naturally, he does not want America to have nukes. America can hardly be persuaded to use its nukes against itself. By extension, therefore - in Obams’s mind - nukes are useless in America's hands.

It is clear that many in America have not yet figured out where we are headed with this president. We have only partially completed the jigsaw puzzle that is Obama’s enigma. We think that we have a pretty good idea what the final picture will look like. Yet some of the pieces are still missing. No matter how hard we try, the remaining puzzle pieces just don't seem to fit. The reason is because our assumptions about the competed picture don’t match the president’s.

It is easier for us to believe that the puzzle is somehow flawed; that we must return it to the store. It is easier for us to come up with excuses to ignore what the puzzle really shows: That this president does NOT have our best interests in mind. We sense trouble, but hope that in time the president will come to recognize it too, and change course. Maybe, we feel, it’s not up to us. This, after all, is what we elect a president for.

The tea partiers get it. They know we are the ones who are in danger. But it’s still not enough. That sense of doom churning in the pit of our stomachs speaks of something much more immediate than danger: We are being stalked. We are the target!

I just heard a speech by Arundhati Roy and Noam Chomsky at the 2010 Left Forum held a few days ago at Pace University in which they made reference to some of this. From what I can gather, their positions are in stark contrast to our own; and, as such, it sets the stage for a conflict that cannot be resolved. Compromise is not possible. Neither is it possible to defeat the base sentiment that America is inherently evil. This is an idea that bullets will never convince. What is the answer? Are we to suffer an endless war of attrition?


Here in America, we thought we'd solved everything by electing an avowed Marxist president. We didn't think he was a Marxist, though we might have suspected as much by his friends and affiliations. No, we only saw his skin color. We sought to slay the race demon for once and for all. Now we know better. If given even half a chance, we will not repeat the same mistake again.

Myanmar

I've been thinking of Myanmar recently. Myanmar is probably one of the two most repressive regimes in the world. The other is North Korea. I haven't been to North Korea, but I've been to Myanmar. The people there are like people everywhere, inquisitive, gentle, but somehow dispirited. The world doesn't care about what anyone in Myanmar says or thinks. Myanmar is like a black hole on the globe. The whole nation is a prison.

And yet, from the look of things, Myanmar was once a great nation. One can gather that much from seeing its antiquities. At some point, all the greatness ceased; the people's spirit died. The people still exist, but they do not live. They are afraid to speak out, or even enquire. No one seeks their advice; their opinion. There will never be an International Auto Show in Rangoon.

This is what we can expect to happen in America if our present administration gets its way. Even the socialist countries of Europe are scrambling to form alliances with some sense of future in mind. Only our government seems determined to choke of all avenues of progress; hope. It's done so much damage already; it's difficult to gage our chances of recovery. Two and a half years of same should suffice to plow us under for good. The world will turn its back on us. Even the most morbid among us find it painful to watch a suicide. Like Myanmar, it won't even be worth the effort to bury the corpse.

Hell No; We Won't Go!!!

Let me say it again: No Democrat will be elected or reelected to office in November. Obama has poisoned the field. There will be exceptions, of course. But these will be few and far between. People who vote are now fully engaged and aware of the threat to our nation. Obama himself can make light of it, glibly pointing out that meteors have not struck the continent since he's been in office. The press can comfortably ignore the ramifications of allowing the Democrats to continue flaunting their contempt for the Constitution in word and action. Jerry-rigged numbers will no longer convince the un- and underemployed that we are heading in the right direction.

Obama's message has gotten out alright. Simply put, it is that he despises the America of pre-Obama days. By extension, he can be expected do his level best to see to it that we will never be able to return to that America (I am paraphrasing Michelle).

Here are some hard facts to consider: Whereas there have been no meteor strikes on the continent, our situation has not improved as promised. Internationally, there are troubles brewing on the horizon - specifically in the Middle East. While it is true that most Americans have difficulty locating other countries on a map, our traditional enemies have not softened their hostile stance toward us. Even our traditional allies are now raising concerns. Also here at home, divisions have only deepened. Unemployment is still unacceptably high. The private sector is under constant assault. Taxes are becoming oppressive. Racial frictions have not diminished. People who have never protested before have felt compelled to come out into the streets to voice their displeasure with the way things are going.

Never once has the president come out to assure the nation. In fact, he and his surrogates have been all too eager to fan the flames of discontent, accusing practically anyone who disagrees with his policies of racism, the only other explanation – implausible as it sounds - still credible to support a dearth of progress. It is a diversion of course; one, that ignores the blatantly obvious observation that the people of America elected Obama - a person of color - to the highest office in the land.

Even the canard of inexperience or incompetence is beginning to wear thin, leaving increasing numbers of Americans to conclude that what is currently being done by our government is not to fix, but to destroy.

Neither have Republicans escaped the nation’s misgivings entirely. Republicans are seen as having been complicit in creating our current mess. When Republicans had their chance, they failed to take a decisive lead, always caving in to Democrat’s shrill demands that have now brought us to the edge. While it is true, that Republicans are routinely ignored or mischaracterized by the media, they have failed to convincingly articulate an alternative. Conventional wisdom now has it that whereas Democrats are sending us into the abyss at hyper speed, Republicans would do the same, only at a much slower pace. There has never been any serious discussion about halting our descent, much less about changing course entirely.

Yet, course changes are in the offing. These have now been forced on us by circumstance. A new crop of leaders are now taking up the reigns. This is America. We will not allow ourselves to be marched into the ovens.

Trolling For Excuses

In the upcoming midterms Democrats will lose overwhelmingly. Among the opposition it will not matter who wins. Republicans, tea partiers and independents will vote as a block against Obama; just like Democrats, socialists, progressives and the various (rainbow) caucuses have voted as a block in support of the current president's policies. Midterms will merely show the relative strength of sundry factions. Overall, Obama will lose his legislative majority and will have to rely on the regulatory structure, already in place, to advance his big government agenda.

The 2012 presidential election is a horse of a different color. Democrats are banking on the opposition fracturing six ways to Sunday, thus producing the opening for their candidate(s) to skate through to victory. This amounts to delusion. It will not happen. Republicans, tea partiers and independents will recognize that Obama himself is the single most potent threat to this nation and will end up uniting under a single (Republican) banner. It will be said that the Republican Party has returned to its conservative roots. Democrats in Congress will suffer further erosion in their ranks.

This once again sets up the country for one-party rule. We can only hope that Republicans (which now will include a broad spectrum of factions) will not succumb to giddy excess. This is precisely where Democrats met their doom. The damage that has already been done to our nation will require a steady and principled hand to set right. As clear leadership has yet to emerge from within our ranks to articulate and coordinate a path forward, the future remains hazy - like a great mountain shrouded in cloud cover. Nobody doubts that the mountain is there.

The media will do its level best to undermine and disparage any serious challenge to the progressive juggernaut. Fortunately, trust in the MSM has eroded along with Democrat fortunes. The media’s current efforts on behalf of their Democrat pals have become patently obvious. Even should Obama's regulatory framework succeed in shutting down alternative media between now and then, it will have come too late. The comatose giant has awoken. He is fully up to speed. He needs no further prodding. The only way Obama and friends can remain in power is by postponing or canceling elections. Don't think they are not trolling for excuses as we speak.
