Unpopular

Unpopular? Hardly. Bush was unpopular; so was Nixon. Obama is way beyond ‘unpopular’. Obama is a menace.

Obama need not rally his troops for the midterms. They’ll understand why he’s saying what he’s saying. They understand that he needs to convince whoever’s in the middle that he’s not Left. They understand that without the middle, their cause is lost.

In the time he’s been in office, Obama has clearly demonstrated where he stands. He’ll say that his work is not yet finished; that once it is, people will see the difference. We see the difference already. We see that the way to the bottom is infinite. We could get to be like some nation in Africa, always at war, no food, organized slaughter and rape, escalating to periodic genocide. So much for the noble savage - and yet, the salt of the earth everywhere is innocent. Leadership makes all the difference.

Yes, there’s still a ways to go till we reach that bottom from which other bottoms may look like tops, but we’re dropping awfully fast. Maybe in two years time we can claim sister cities in Somalia.

I think people know what’s at stake. The polls pretty much confirm it. When even major media says that the Dems are in trouble, it must look really bad for them. Congressional approval numbers hover around 11. I’d say, subtract 10. The people know what’s going down.

Obama can be expected to do a lot of talking in the next couple of weeks. Was Rahm pushed or did he flee? He’ll likely not be mayor of Chicago either. Guilt by association. All Democrats suffer from it - even that nut job, Grayson from Florida.

Smokes In The Rough

Alan Grayson is the face of today’s Democrat Party - what’s left of it, anyway. He is energetic, attractive and, above all, confident. He is confident that people will believe anything they’re told - as long as they’re being told it with confidence.

Grayson believes - not without cause - the American electorate to be stupid and blind. His brand of politics has been highly effective in the past. But this is a new era. The difference between political rhetoric and political reality has become too great. It can no longer be papered over by wearing an American Flag tie and a used-car salesman’s smile.

POTUS is another one pretending nobody notices that (for instance), since assuming office, he has been on more vacations and played more rounds of golf than all other presidents put together. He does this fully aware that, if it were to become known, the public would not react favorably. Yet, he needs to keep doing it to maintain some sense of balance within his own fragile mind; to keep telling himself that the job assigned to him is not really so momentous, after all: the systematic and deliberate slaughter of (what once was) a very important nation.

POTUS is not really so committed as others who standing behind him (the mosque at Ground Zero, and every other divisive, job-killing initiative he has been made to endorse) urging him on, and telling him what to do and say. His compulsive golfing proves it; as does sneaking smokes in the rough. He is not mature enough to appreciate the gravity of what is happening to the country that honored him with its sacred trust. It never occurs to him that old men play golf to pretend they are not dying.

Driven Out

The past couple of nights I’ve been awakened by the scream of some kind of animal. Somebody said it’s a meerkat. (What a meerkat would be doing in NJ, I’ll never know.) It reminded me of Alan Grayson whom I’ve seen spewing his liberal garbage in the MSNBC echo chamber. Grayson is energetic, outspoken, vain and (I suspect) about to lose his privilege. This makes him (as you say) ‘act out’.

The meerkat’s call (if it’s that) signals stress, pressure, danger. It’s scary; insistent. I would not go outside to confront it. It is piercing as that of a stuck pig. Unsettling. Somebody is about to get hurt. Call it a response to “an uprising that has no name other than taxpayer, homeowner, worker, citizen"... Call it ‘tea party’; call it anything. - Or ignore it at your own risk. It’s a long way to November. But the Dems still keep digging.

Republicans are watching and licking their chops. They think they’re shoo-ins. Not so fast. We’re all watching now. ‘Not Bush’; ‘not Obama’ won’t work anymore. You’re all on your own now: arabesques of either, the cancer or the cure. No slick ads; no union endorsements and cash can save you. No riding coattails. No hiding behind empty platitudes.

The earthquake has occurred. It started somewhere over in Indonesia where they’re toppling statues of Obama and burning him in effigy. The tsunami is on its way. It should hit around November and take out everybody connected with this sinful betrayal – the betrayal of the people by their elected representatives. Start building the ramparts now. Pile up all your bags of Soros' money around your homes. Hide among the pseudo-civilian media whose faces we’ve now identified. Sink that bunker from which to proclaim your hollow victory - the cry of the meerkat, that no longer frightens. For now we know that meerkats don’t inhabit this continent. If they’re here, they’re interlopers; posers; they don’t belong here. They – and especially you, Grayson - will be driven out.

Dutch Disease

In economic parlance there are no less than three terms that describe essentially the same condition: "Resource Curse", "Paradox of Plenty" and "Dutch Disease". All these refer to unstable or failed states that, at the same time, can claim to have a wealth of natural resources. The theory goes, that their natural resources are precisely the reason for the failure of such states; that the resources themselves have made these states the targets of exploitation by foreign interests and, to a lesser extent, of corruption domestically. Obvious examples of states suffering from “Dutch Disease” are liberally spread throughout the Middle East, Africa and South America.

The easiest to scapegoat is always the foreigner. In fact, it has almost become obligatory to blame foreigners for any and all domestic difficulties. Foreigners must also meet certain standards of worthiness; that is to say, they must demonstrate sufficiently deep pockets to justify the bother and risk involved in pursuing the protocol of extortion. Foreigners must also exhibit enough sensitivity to be open to severe introspection as to be able to arrive at the entirely narcissistic conclusion that all that has ever happened is one’s own fault.

Future colonizers, exploiters, human and arms traffickers, in order to excel in their chosen craft, will have learned to avoid the pitfalls of circular thinking. They will pick a point along the proverbial arc and stick with it. They will know that the point they picked represents nothing more or less than the position most advantageous to themselves. Thus they will have fully understood the adage, “Take care of yourself (first) and all else will take care of itself.”

Grayson is an oaf who, along with his Democrat colleagues, is also about to squander the precious resource of political power. Predictably, he and the others will blame everyone but themselves. Republicans will have to avoid the illusion of the “big tent” and come to terms with the fact that their fine feathered friends in the press, academe and Hollywood will have to suffer the elements while the work of putting our nation back together proceeds in earnest inside.
