Is He? Or Isn't He? (God)

Obama’s crime in this regard - the continuing questions about his birth certificate - is not whether he’s a citizen or not. It’s simply that he won’t produce the relevant papers. Imagine a cop stopping you for running a stop sign and asking you for your driver’s license, registration, and insurance card. You refuse. He would then be duty-bound to impound your vehicle and arrest you on the spot.

The trouble is that there is no “controlling legal authority” prepared to challenge this president on this particular matter. In the absence of such authority, the president himself is the law. He is, in effect, above the law. It also becomes a question of who works for whom.

To date, Obama has spent 1.5 million taxpayer dollars defending himself against lawsuits questioning his status. He would not be doing that if he had nothing to hide.

I do not doubt that Obama is a citizen. Otherwise, his chutzpah would fall too far afield of probability. Even ‘audacity (of hope)’ wouldn’t cover it. No. Much more likely is that the actual birth certificate would show Obama to be a card-carrying Muslim. And remember how much trouble Kennedy had just being a Catholic?

In Obama’s case the cover-up will turn out to be his undoing - as Nixon found out.

Puppets

It seems that we keep talking about North Korea when we should be talking about China (which makes N. Korea relevant). Our reluctance to do so betrays a much deeper reality lurking beneath the murky waters of the Yellow Sea. That reality begs the question: What is China’s aim in all this?

The reason we do not publicly ponder this question is the same as why we do not admit that Islamic terrorism constitutes a declaration of war; why we coddle captured terrorists and attempt to equate them roughly with ourselves; why we choreograph complicated protocol at our airports and increasingly shove Israel under the rug.

China is a communist state. As such it is an enemy of capitalism - an enemy of America. Our leaders are desperately trying to shift us in their direction and away from capitalism. It is hoped that if we turn far enough - in effect, change our stripes - we will escape our fate. It must be kept in mind that we have already handed them the keys to our economy. They can pull the plug at any time.

When Nixon opened the door to China, the feeling was that we could turn them our way. Instead, it is we who have had to do the turning. We’re literally spinning like a top. Any pretence on our part that we are in charge of our destiny is illusory at this point. Make no mistake, China is the puppet master; Obama is the puppet.

Unpopular

Unpopular? Hardly. Bush was unpopular; so was Nixon. Obama is way beyond ‘unpopular’. Obama is a menace.

Obama need not rally his troops for the midterms. They’ll understand why he’s saying what he’s saying. They understand that he needs to convince whoever’s in the middle that he’s not Left. They understand that without the middle, their cause is lost.

In the time he’s been in office, Obama has clearly demonstrated where he stands. He’ll say that his work is not yet finished; that once it is, people will see the difference. We see the difference already. We see that the way to the bottom is infinite. We could get to be like some nation in Africa, always at war, no food, organized slaughter and rape, escalating to periodic genocide. So much for the noble savage - and yet, the salt of the earth everywhere is innocent. Leadership makes all the difference.

Yes, there’s still a ways to go till we reach that bottom from which other bottoms may look like tops, but we’re dropping awfully fast. Maybe in two years time we can claim sister cities in Somalia.

I think people know what’s at stake. The polls pretty much confirm it. When even major media says that the Dems are in trouble, it must look really bad for them. Congressional approval numbers hover around 11. I’d say, subtract 10. The people know what’s going down.

Obama can be expected to do a lot of talking in the next couple of weeks. Was Rahm pushed or did he flee? He’ll likely not be mayor of Chicago either. Guilt by association. All Democrats suffer from it - even that nut job, Grayson from Florida.

Waiting for Sarah Palin

All this is rooted in the impulse to escape the squalor of earth as used-up hankie. We can’t seem to live here anymore. We’re polluting the air and the water; we’re using up resources; melting the ice; killing species; and on top of everything, we’ve come to hate each other, as well as the weather.

Last night, the U.S. Senate voted to advance a bill that everybody hates. It was done solely to demonstrate the power of the majority party. What’s worse is that very few of those voting knew what they were voting for. They did it simply for revenge; to poke a stick into the eye of the hated opposition.

George W. Bush was the most hated politician, certainly in my lifetime. Nixon came close, but Bush took the cake. He was so despised that the American people voted for an unknown and untested individual on blind faith. The argument was that nobody – absolutely nobody - could be worse than Bush. In addition, in their infinite wisdom, the American people elected clear Democrat majorities to both the House and Senate, abandoning any notion of checks and balances.

Now they sit here and condemn the blue dogs and anybody else who could have saved them from this health care debacle - and didn’t. Today, for instance, there is a lengthy editorial in the WSJ decrying the health care bill and making dire predictions - and putting it all on Nelson. When is it going to dawn on the good people at the WSJ and anybody else who got up this morning shaking their heads that elections have consequences? Elect a Marxist to the office of president and you will get Marxist policies. Brother will be turned against brother, young against old, rich against poor – and you’ll have your revolution. This is how it starts. It’s not funny. Hate! And you will see blood on your streets. It’s as simple as that. Throw any notion of checks and balances out the window and you end up rolling down this road without any brakes.

But we did it only because we hated Bush so much. Why did we really hate him? Why indeed! Was it the war? the torture? The truth is, we can’t really remember exactly. We hated him because every waking minute we were told to hate him; that it was cool to hate; it made us feel better to vent - and it cost us nothing. Bush was a convenient target; he was stupid-looking – bewildered by our hatred - like we ourselves are now, sitting with our thumbs up.... waiting for Sarah Palin to make the announcement.
