Soros' Shades of Utopia

How did POTUS get here? Many people are asking. Did anybody even know his name before he started campaigning for the U.S. presidency? What can explain his meteoric rise to power? Surely, somebody must have known something about him. If we had wanted a black man in the Oval Office, why not Sharpton? Why not Jackson? Why not Farrakhan? These people have been around for a while - quite long enough to have name recognition. We could have made an intelligent decision - just on the basis of what we already knew of their public record. But Obama? A blank slate? Nothing known about him except that he could walk upright and speak in semi-coherent sentences.

Now, we find, there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between all the afore mentioned. Why not them? Even the Republicans have some attractive black candidates. But they - considered Uncle Tom’s all around - never had a chance. Only Obama - the unknown quantity - snuck through the campaign gauntlet, in part because we wanted a Democrat and we wanted him to be black. How did it happen? Answer: the media.

The media hyped this man no end. Even the lovely and gracious Hillary had to step aside and make her exit stumble. She had all the right credentials to be sure, except she was white (and almost a man). Couldn’t have that. We were singularly determined to go all the way. (Could the Bamster possibly be gay? We were hoping.) Yet, without the Bamster leading the parade, she would have made it to the top.

Somebody knew about Barack Obama. Somebody knew just how to orchestrate the coup. Somebody had to have backed him; groomed him; told him what to say and how to say it. Somebody must have had his boot on the throats of the media, issuing directives. Somebody with a lot of money, who could spread plenty of it around for favors.

Surely, McCain was told how to play his part. Maybe even Hillary. It’s obvious the press was schooled in the intricate steps of the fan dance. Money, not ideology, was the culprit. Who had all that money to spread around, and even some left over to spark a fiscal crisis with?

Who made ‘conspiracy theory’ a naughty word? Who is so sensitive as to orchestrate the removal of talk show hosts that come too close to uttering his secret name? Who declares the wizard’s moneyed curtain ‘do not touch’? It takes no less than Dorothy’s precocious dog, Trump, to pull it aside? Trump too has money.

Does Trump have enough to unmask Soros’ wrinkled face? Maybe not. But he may just be dumb enough to try. The Donald is sick of it. He’s has a business to run and sees his business hitting the skids. He blames Obama. Clearly, he can blame Obama all he wants. That’s what Obama is there for. He’s part of the curtain - a relatively small part, I might add. The very fact that Obama remains vulnerable tells you exactly what Soros thinks of him. Toilet paper. But attack Soros directly - like Glen Beck did - and it’s curtains.

Soros will slough off Obama when the time comes. He’ll slough off anyone; he has no sense of loyalty. Soros is in machine mode; producing revenge against God for a horribly disfigured life, cloaked in shades of Utopia.

All too true, Peter; at least if the tolerated intolerant hail from one of PC's Most Favored Victim groups. That this is largely PC-driven is proven beyond doubt by the grotesque fact that Muslims as a group -- including the most radical, violent and, yes, intolerant among them -- have achieved full-fledged MFV status among the Liberal Establishment of both parties and the MSM. The latest stomach-turning development here is General Petraeus' mealy-mouthed apology for the Koran burning staged by self-proclaimed Christian minister Terry Jones and his huge throng of tens of like-minded haters.

The good General is no doubt a fine and dedicated officer but he has apparently fallen victim to the military professional's most prevalent occupational malady -- fighting the last war. Petraeus has been trying to adapt the deference to Islamic mores and traditional tribal structures that powered the successful surge in Iraq to a very different situation in Afghantistan, where the shorthand for Islamic mores and traditional tribal structures is most often spelt T-A-L-I-B-A-N. In Iraq, the Sunni elders had their own excellent reasons to morph into active foes of al-Quaeda; in Afghanistan, the incentives for tribal leaders vis-a-vis the Taliban seem almost 180 degrees opposite.

Unfortunately, the response of the General, and the Obama Administration, has been to double-down on an increasingly expensive and ineffective strategy, with his public reaction to the Florida Koran burning being the latest example. Petraeus rightly condemns the Koran burning as an offensive and intolerant act, but he never even mentions, must less denounces, the murderous temper-tantrums of Afghan Muslims that resulted in the deaths of innocent people, even the beheadings of a pair of UN mission officials, nor does he call any attention to the fact that the worst of these tantrums have been whipped up by lying imams who claim repeatedly that burning Korans by the dozen is virtually routine in Great-Satan America.

Now Senator Lindsey Graham, John McCain's poodle, is joining in with a strange and dangerous doctrine that the "loose lips sink ships" ethos of World War II be applied to the "war" that the USA is currently engaged in. Senator Graham, may we dare ask -- what war are we now engaged in, exactly? None has been declared, certainly not in the same way as WW II, and wouldn't we want such a clear legal basis before we limit our traditional American free speech, which in your statement you damn with faint praise as "a good idea, but . . .?"

Never one to miss an opportunity for working a scam, Hamid Karzai is also jumping in on this Koran-burning issue. Admittedly Karzai -- unlike General Petraeus -- condemns the murders as well as the book-burning, but how he and his well-respected, wildly popular regime is going to investigate to describe and explain what really happened. Can anyone doubt, based on the slippery Karzai track record, that the results of this "investigation" will be heavily couched in terms of "blame America first?" Followed by an even larger bill presented to Wash-DC by Karzai for his invaluable and selfless services in "opposing" -- ha, ha! -- the Taliban?

In any case, Petraeus, Karzai, Obama, Graham, the MSM, and all the rest of our dhimmis-in-training will sooner or later blame alleged American "intolerance" as the root cause of murderous anti-Western protests in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the Ummah. None will question why, after all the sacrifices in blood and treasure Americans and their Western allies have made to benefit or "protect" -- today's buzz-word -- various Muslim populations, significant percentages of those same populations seem fully prepared to believe any outrageous charge that those same Westerners are nothing more than tools of the Jews and/or Crusaders in sheep's clothing waging war on Islam. Which is to say, could these murderous tantrums actually be the result of MUSLIM intolerance? But to say so is not PC and is, therefore, taboo, unlike willingly undermining our Constitutional protection of free speech, the better to tolerate the intolerant. God save America!

My comment: They engage in 'murderous tantrums' because it works for them. Can you blame them? Like children, the more they act out, the more we allow. Tolerance only works up to a point.

They All Were Despised

Pawlenty, Shmawlenty! This is the first time I’ve heard of this man. We know nothing about him except that he can talk and say all the right things in a campaign commercial while a rousing dirge plays in the background. Where has this man been for the past two years? He should have been shouting ‘Fire!’ in this crowded American theater all along – along with everybody else. Now it may already be too late. Reminds of that sorry-looking fish he’s holding on the cover of TIME. (What is that? Buckshot?)

Pawlenty is portrayed as a loser with close similarities to McCain. He even lost to Palin when it came time for McCain to pick a running mate. No, I’ve actually been reduced to looking at Kucinich for leadership. At least he had the guts to call for Obama’s impeachment. Wouldn’t it be delicious irony if Obama’s greatest threat came from the left?

Maybe it is right what Islamists say about us; that our days are numbered; that we have lost our way; our will; our resolve to fight and prevail while dancing pointless pirouettes on White House parkette, just marking time before the barbarians arrive and knock down the gates. Perhaps it’s already happened and we’ve got our heads so far up..., we can’t even see what’s being done to us. And that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it? - our precious, gilded as*es, making believe our sh*t doesn’t stink.

That’s how they see us – our enemies: faded prima donnas in drag. There won’t be much to sweep away after it’s all over; our egos lying shattered on the ballroom floor. It shouldn’t take much to clean up the mess. Hell, we could do it ourselves – but we won’t. There are certain jobs Americans just will no longer do.

Right now our enemies are doing a pretty fair job of cleaning our clocks. One janitor is as good as the next. Maybe we’ve cried ‘wolf’ too many times: We can no longer tell the difference between them. Clinton, Bush, Obama (actually it started in earnest with Reagan). They all were despised.

Romney: Didn't We...

When people are taken hostage they are customarily bound and gagged: bound, as to prevent escape; gagged as to prevent them from speaking.

Though I have no proof, I believe that years ago the Catholic Church was deliberately infiltrated by elements that were intent on sowing mischief. There was much to be gained by the diminution of the Church’s credibility and power. Offshoots and lesser Christian denominations were targeted as well, but there the approach was more directly ideological. These would essentially evolve into politically-driven social clubs.

In politics, a similar strategy has now become apparent. The Democrat Party - the weaker of the two American political parties, weakened primarily by the indiscretions of Bill Clinton - became a cesspool for leftist tripe. The Republican Party also would not remain immune to anti-American trends.

In our last presidential election it was interesting to note just how the strategy works. The people were presented essentially with a Hobson’s choice. On one hand, a known entity, saddled with all of the trumped-up failures of the past; a war hero, who quite appropriately wrapped himself in the American flag, but was a ‘progressive’ (new word for ‘socialist') nonetheless. On the other, an unknown. “Let’s try something different,” became the excuse of the duped who thought themselves as modern and, above all, (oh so) tolerant. (The Islamization of America had not yet entered the frame.) The office at stake was not that important after all. We’d been attacking it, belittling it, mocking it for eight years without seeing much of a difference.

As the table is now being set for the 2012 election cycle, we see more of the same. No doubt, Obama’s record constitutes a serious drag for Democrats as Republicans continue to poll well. But far from taking the opportunity to change course, we’re merely changing masks and party labels. Romney should be out by virtue of his health care blunder in Massachusetts alone. The real standard bearers of conservatism continue to be demonized by both the Left and the Right. ‘Centrist’ and ‘no labels’ are exalted, but stand firmly for the status quo: a sometimes rapid, sometimes slow descent. When what we really need to do is tear up the tracks going forward and turn this train around.

As I’ve said previously, Obama’s election was no accident. All was in place to bring it about. I maintain, that under McCain it would now be no different. In some ways it might even be worse.

I am simply amazed how many who claim to be on our side are perfectly willing to denounce Palin; how many laugh and nod their heads knowingly when someone outrageously and publicly claims she is no more than masturbatory material.

Romney looks good on the golf course. I may be mistaken, but didn’t we just try that?

A Bad Joke

Secession. An interesting idea; one, among several, the states may have to consider if they are to have any hope of rolling out from under our suffocating government monster. Expect a slew of law suits originating from within our various states, challenging federal mandates. As long as the Supremes remain split 5 to 4 we have a chance. We’re hanging by a thread.

Those of us who predicted this back during the last presidential campaign were called all sorts of names. Now it’s happened. What to do? Secession? Impeachment? It’s not that McCain would have been better. In some ways he might well have been worse. It would have given the Left even more time to arm and organize. Just the fact that they don’t yet own the Court means that they jumped the gun.

The problem with the Left is that ‘they have distilled a kind of world history to suit certain purposes. It consists of nothing but the chronology of ideas. It is bloodless and lacking in reality …nothing but laws and formulas, no reality, no good and evil, no time, no yesterday, no tomorrow, nothing but an eternal, shallow academic construct‘.*

‘Suppose an anatomist is dissecting a body. He does not confront wholly surprising discoveries. Rather, he finds beneath the epidermis a assemblage of organs, muscles, tendons, and bones which generally conform to a pattern he has brought to his work. But if the anatomist sees nothing but this pattern, and ignores the unique, individual reality of his object*, he has lost touch with an essence.

Similarly, today’s Leftist relies on the power to manipulate data (the bones) to suit some highly improbable Utopian purpose, quite without regard to the spirit that girds it.

When we elected Obama, we essentially decided to attach a Rolls Royce logo to a Yugo. It made people sit up and take notice without making the car run any better. Now it’s become just a bad joke.

Circling

John McCain must be defeated. He could be put up against a three-legged stool with pictures of Donald Duck on it and the stool must win. McCain represents everything that’s wrong with the Republican Party. He must not be rewarded! Better to install the most rabid Marxist in his stead. At least you’ll have someone who believes in something.

Just saw John Frankenheimer’s “The Train” (’64) today. In it the Nazis were trying to ship a load of looted art from France into Germany. The French Resistance devised an elaborate ruse to reroute the train, temporarily renaming the railway stations along the way, to make it seem - to the German escorts on board - as if they were headed to Germany when in fact they were just circling around.

This is exactly the ruse employed by the Obama administration. The series of disastrous policies which have been rammed through since he’s been in office are the stations, named in such a way as to make us believe we’re on our way to Utopia. As soon as the train passes, the wraps are removed to reveal our true direction. The film’s narrative tension is heightened when we realize that it’s dictated by the clock. It is nearing the end of the war. The Allies are on their way. Will they be in time to save Paul Labiche (Burt Lancaster) and is precious cargo?

Today we too are circling. We are helplessly captive under the Democrat onslaught. I heard on the news just yesterday that Republicans successfully stopped legislation to extend unemployment benefits. I have news for you: Republicans do not have the votes to stop anything. If it was stopped, it’s Democrats who did it.

Republicans will have to tolerate misfits like JD in office like the Dems tolerate unfunny comedian Al Franken and most of his ignorant Marxist cabal. For those looking out the window, we’re just passing the town of “Financial Regulations Overhaul”. After the train has passed, the wraps will come off and the sign will read: “Obama Power Grab# (take your pick)”.

Peeling Paint

Events are rapidly overtaking any past positions that may have been taken. Our continuing obsession with blaming former leaders is sounding increasingly hollow. Yes, I have often said that had we elected John McCain, things would now be worse. I still believe that. For one thing, the Left's blaming of Bush's policies (and characterizing McCain as more of the same) would now still carry considerable weight. As it is, the Left in America is increasingly stuck with having to defend its own record, which now too sounds hollow and wrongheaded. In fact, what the Left has managed to accomplish since Obama's euphoric election - and even before, since taking majorities in congress (in 2007) - is now roundly seen as having been ineffective to the point of making George W. Bush's presidency look good.

The truth is that neither party has had much to offer, and both share in the blame. The way forward is at best painful. It is time to call on all the American people to sacrifice, something that Bush, to his eternal discredit, has never dared to do. His mantra after 9/11 was to continue as before. Never mind that the economy was already reeling. Ditto, our foreign policy. He, as president, must have known the score. Yet, he gave no indication that there were problems out there that needed be brought to our attention.

Perhaps, Bush - like the Democrats - did not want to alarm us. Perhaps he was hoping for a Deus ex machina event orchestrated by a higher power. Perhaps he, like a good father, did not relish the thought of bringing his work home for the family to deal with. That was a mistake. We are not children. We would have understood that we can't go on as we have. It would have involved no more than a straight-forward discussion about household finances. Instead, we were told everything is fine.

Everything was not fine. Nothing is fine now. Anyone claiming it is, is lying. Anybody claiming that a fix will be easy, is lying as well. The one positive thing that Obama has managed is inadvertently allowing us to see the paint peeling off our gilded walls.

Meghan's Father

John McCain is a hero; a national treasure. He is also a stumblebum who lost his quest for the presidency either deliberately or for sheer lack of nerve. We all knew of McCain’s political prowess; his quickness to anger; his wit and ability to engineer the always effective sound bite size put-down. We waited breathlessly for him to do his stuff during the candidates’ numerous pre-election debates.

It never materialized. In fact, it appeared, he deliberately sidestepped every grapefruit size opportunity to hit it out of the park. In the end, all we could do is feel sorry for him and rationalize that he had been in some way fundamentally damaged while serving his country in a Hanoi prison. Now it is commonly heard that things would be much worse if McCain had been elected.

Republicans have come to know McCain, as a has-been pol, well past his prime. Blind to the dangers his nation is facing, he remains alert for every opportunity to undermine his own party. While the national press adores him, no Republican is fooled anymore. Not even in his own state will grant him another term. If he stays in the spotlight, it’ll be Democrats who will shine it. It is they who owe him big time.

Today’s performance only serves to bolster the indictment against him. It proves that he still has what it takes; that he drew back inexplicably and deliberately withheld the winning hand when it counted most.
