We're Cooked

One does a disservice to Obama to call him a rock star. The proper identifier should actually be ‘revolutionary’. As such, Obama represents far more than a rock n’ roll opera - entertainment for fiberglass-filled talking heads. He represents a clear and present danger to the Republic.

JB has already noted that Obama is likely to turn hard left after Tuesday’s midterm trouncing. He will do so, not only for ideological reasons, but to throw this nation into such chaos the likes of which it hasn’t seen since the Civil War. By the time 2012 rolls around, we will no longer have a functioning representative government, and elections will likely be a thing of the past.

We look at the man and ask, How could a nice young man be doing all that within the span of a single term in office? It is indeed tempting to focus on the lanky figure with the Dumbo ears and draw one’s conclusions. In truth, he has a whole cadre of powerful allies, both foreign and domestic.

We’ve heard - but don’t yet believe - that Islamists want us either dead or shariah-bound. We’ve heard what they say about us, and witnessed first-hand their determination to bleed us dry. We’ve seen our own official reaction to their challenge as tepid. We console ourselves by saying that these are the hateful words and actions of a handful of crazies, not realizing that this is precisely the same thing they say about us.

We taunt them at every turn. On a stop-over in Brussels last month, I once again had to go through extensive security. After gathering my things together, we were herded to an incline that took us to the departure lounge one flight up. At the end of the incline - directly in front of us - was a huge poster of a pretty lingerie model. I noted that a good portion of my fellow ascendants were Arabs, whose sensibilities were no doubt offended.

They offend us equally, by stoning women, blowing up worshippers, severing heads and hands; paralyzing spinal columns, etc. We have excuses to overlook such things. It’s their culture. It’s thousands of years old. Who is to say that, barring our addiction to Twinkies, we would not be doing the same?

As far as the upcoming elections are concerned - forget about Democrats vs. Republicans - right now, we have three groups in this country: (1) those committed to overthrowing our nation; (2) those consisting of what Stalin once referred to as ‘useful idiots’; and (3) those (and this now comprises an ever expanding majority) that are just beginning to sense an existential danger.

Nobody can yet be certain to which of the first two groups our president belongs to. In view of the complete lack of transparency with regard to Obama’s background, I have long suspected that Obama belongs to the first. I have previously stated my belief that Obama represents the third attack on our nation (the first and second being the attacks on the World Trade Center They used our own planes...; they used our own election system to plant a Trojan horse among us.) It’s difficult to come to any other conclusion given all he has managed to do thus far. Our system of governance remains at high risk; as does our economy. If any one of these should fall, we are cooked.

We already have so much on our table domestically, it’s difficult to focus on international affairs. Suffice it to say, it doesn’t look good for Israel, historically speaking, our most loyal and trusted ally.

Animal Farm

Not much is known about North Korea these days but it may in fact mirror George Orwell’s classic “Animal Farm” to a tee. I recommend this slim volume to anyone who may be tempted to believe that central planning is the answer to all the world’s ills. All the elements and personalities of Marxist lore are uncannily brought into sharp focus in this dystopian spoof that was originally meant to bring the brutal reality of Stalinism home to the general reading public: the pigs; the useful idiots; the need for an enemy; food and health rationing; weapons development (the windmill); the re-write of history; propaganda; corruption; oppression, and more.

Many of these very same trends are rapidly developing within our own nation today. The slide into Marxism seems easy at first. Later, the mix of delusion and raw power tends to turn lethal when issues of succession are at stake. We are now seeing this in North Korea.

The West (including much of America) has already capitulated to Orwell's pigs. Barack Hussein Obama represents the closest we have ever come to tyrannical rule. You might ask yourselves, Who is Obama’s designated enemy? Who is the one, we are constantly told, that is keeping the central planners from achieving their Utopian goals? The answer is YOU.

An Esculent Mix

I’d like to draw your attention to an opinion piece by James P. Rubin in the Wall Street Journal this morning. It’s entitled, “Obama’s Foreign Policy Successes”. It details some of what the president has done on the international front since assuming office and paints the result as a vast improvement over the (so-called) debacle the Bush administration had left us with. The article is articulate and works logically within its own frame, and surely represents the thinking of the present administration and of those supporting it.

Clearly, the opinions expressed in Rubin’s article do not reflect the opinions expressed by the majority of contributors to this blog, the majority of opinions expressed by WSJ contributors, or even the majority American opinion (as reflected by the polls) as it relies heavily on Bush and Israel bashing to achieve its point. Several, if not all, of Rubin’s underlying assumptions are highly arguable. Still, this article cannot be classified as ‘spoof’. (I kept looking for the punch line.) It is an honest attempt to give due credit to an administration the author appears to hold in high regard.

Neither can this article be considered an ‘apologia’ as, in the author’s view, there is nothing to apologize for. The worst that can be said for it is that its author likes what Obama has done and is defending it from a basis of that preconceived notion.

I, on the other hand, could not disagree more. I am troubled by the fact that different people witnessing essentially the same series of events can come to such radically different conclusions. I worry about it in the same way I worry about a bust of Stalin suddenly appearing in a WWII soldier’s cemetery in Virginia; a mosque now having gained approval for construction in close proximity to Ground Zero; or the name of Mao Zedong uttered in the same breath as ‘inspiration’ by high administration officials.

While I see nothing wrong with a bust of Josef Stalin in Russia, or a mosque built somewhere in the Middle East (or even somewhere in our own country where a high concentration of Muslim demands it); or a picture of Mao overlooking a square in China, I do find it incredulous that Americans could actually be moved to celebrate such things right here in America.

America’s traditional melting pot has ruptured. Its contents have putrefied and are spilling their poisons into the bloodstream. We no longer seem to be able to stem their lethal surge.

I once tried to make cheese fondue from scratch. Fondue consists of a smooth blend of three different cheeses, wine and (potato) starch. It’s a delicate process involving a narrow range of temperatures (for each ingredient) and precise timing. My own attempt ended in disaster. Washington too appears to lack the expertise to produce an esculent mix.

Media Hype

In order to keep a nation from descending to the status of prison colony, it is essential for its people to be involved in governance. The Afghans seem to understand this. At the same time, they are highly suspicious of foreign influence in their domestic affairs. And that too is natural. Whoever came up with the idea of ‘changing hearts and minds’ and made it U.S. policy did us a great disservice. The best and only effective way to influence the course of events on foreign shores is to lead by example.

I’ll be the first to admit that our example has not been stellar. Since we installed the current administration, it has become painfully obvious that the voices of the rank and file have been systematically excluded from the national conversation. We have marched; we have attended town hall meetings; we have written letters, telephoned and e-mailed – and Washington never once acknowledged us. We have been made to feel that we no longer matter.

We’ve fought back. We’ve cancelled our subscriptions to state-controlled media in droves. Their financial plight has become obvious. Now, plans are being hatched to bail them out. At the same time, new regulations on media in general are being seriously considered. I think most people participating on this blog realize that the whole thing has Stalinist overtones.

It is interesting to note what has happened in Turkey. Most observers find it difficult to believe that Turkey has gone over to the dark side in the space of a single election cycle. Controlling the press was key. For months now, Turks have had saturation coverage promoting the idea that America went to war in Iraq in order to harvest body parts. Israel, of course, was in on the scheme.

What would you think if perky Katie Couric were to tell you nightly that Bush was an idiot? What would you think if Brian Williams were to tell you nightly that Barack Hussein Obama had come specifically to save the world? How would you feel if Bob Woodruff were to tell you nightly that the world’s glaciers are melting, the oceans are rising – and that it’s all your fault.

Yes, kids; we too have fallen for our share of hype. Some of us have come to feel comfortable with it; some have benefited from it financially; some have used it as a bludgeon; and some have used it as a reason to become cynical. Once government – any government – has got its hooks into media, we will have forfeited the right to lecture anyone about anything.

Poser

Every expectation, both domestically and internationally, has been turned on its head by this administration. Most of us have yet to realize this. We still insist on calling it failure (or incompetence) when ticking off accomplishments (or the lack thereof) since Barack Hussein Obama has been in office. Can we now say ‘DELIBERATE’?

Iraq is a throw-away for Obama. He’s looking to scoot under any pretext. The mission as he sees it – his mandate, if you wish – is to remake America. Even that is a euphemism, I’m afraid. He means to destroy us. He sees America as an unrepentant evil that must be erased from the earth.

On the Right, it has become fashionable to shout ‘SOCIALISM’ in the hope of stirring the comatose into exhibiting some spine arched in opposition. It's even worse than that. Socialism is the least of it. Other nations have and are surviving - whereas some can even be said to have prospered - under socialism. Read Alinsky again. Obama intends to destroy us. This means, every trace of what we have come to know as 'America' - gone. To do this, he has lit many fuses. Economic collapse is no longer unthinkable. Neither is Israel's demise. The specter of violence looms on our own shores, stoked by this administration and by the now state-controlled media. Obama wants no less than revolution - with all its bells and whistles.

Socialism to these people is merely a point of argument to keep us distracted and confused while discord about race, gender, income, political affiliation, etc. is sown. Obama has come to divide and destroy so that his name will go down in history as the greatest of tyrants the world has ever seen - to outshine even Mao, Stalin and Hitler. In this way he intends to win the respect of modern-day tyrants who have thus far dismissed him as a mere poser.
