I seriously doubt that countries like China and Russia will ever become a target of Wikileaks. These remain vulnerable only to the extent that they have had dealings with the U.S. and that such contact may have compromised their integrity in some way. To me the aim here is clear: It is to isolate the U.S. diplomatically; to marginalize any association with the U.S. by declaring it risky to engage her in the first place.

By it, other countries are warned to keep away; that they run the risk of being exposed. It is a part of a continuing worldwide campaign to reduce America’s influence on the world stage (which may explain Obama’s reluctance to do much of anything about it). It is to force other countries into the arms of lesser powers who are just now beginning to make moves to fill the (world) leadership vacuum and, at the same time, distance themselves from what is now seen as the American leper.

Still, you've got to admit Wikileaks represents what has become a classic strategy - whether successful or not - coordinated attacks from within and without. Sapientia is right, Venezuela and S. Africa among others will never be targets.

It's a shame that there are now nearly as many Trojan horses (Bradley Manning, et al) inside as out. It has become fashionable to draw American blood. Perhaps we can withstand it for now - but for how long? Those who claim that we are invincible should remember that George Washington too was considered to be basically healthy before his leech treatment commenced.

We're Cooked

One does a disservice to Obama to call him a rock star. The proper identifier should actually be ‘revolutionary’. As such, Obama represents far more than a rock n’ roll opera - entertainment for fiberglass-filled talking heads. He represents a clear and present danger to the Republic.

JB has already noted that Obama is likely to turn hard left after Tuesday’s midterm trouncing. He will do so, not only for ideological reasons, but to throw this nation into such chaos the likes of which it hasn’t seen since the Civil War. By the time 2012 rolls around, we will no longer have a functioning representative government, and elections will likely be a thing of the past.

We look at the man and ask, How could a nice young man be doing all that within the span of a single term in office? It is indeed tempting to focus on the lanky figure with the Dumbo ears and draw one’s conclusions. In truth, he has a whole cadre of powerful allies, both foreign and domestic.

We’ve heard - but don’t yet believe - that Islamists want us either dead or shariah-bound. We’ve heard what they say about us, and witnessed first-hand their determination to bleed us dry. We’ve seen our own official reaction to their challenge as tepid. We console ourselves by saying that these are the hateful words and actions of a handful of crazies, not realizing that this is precisely the same thing they say about us.

We taunt them at every turn. On a stop-over in Brussels last month, I once again had to go through extensive security. After gathering my things together, we were herded to an incline that took us to the departure lounge one flight up. At the end of the incline - directly in front of us - was a huge poster of a pretty lingerie model. I noted that a good portion of my fellow ascendants were Arabs, whose sensibilities were no doubt offended.

They offend us equally, by stoning women, blowing up worshippers, severing heads and hands; paralyzing spinal columns, etc. We have excuses to overlook such things. It’s their culture. It’s thousands of years old. Who is to say that, barring our addiction to Twinkies, we would not be doing the same?

As far as the upcoming elections are concerned - forget about Democrats vs. Republicans - right now, we have three groups in this country: (1) those committed to overthrowing our nation; (2) those consisting of what Stalin once referred to as ‘useful idiots’; and (3) those (and this now comprises an ever expanding majority) that are just beginning to sense an existential danger.

Nobody can yet be certain to which of the first two groups our president belongs to. In view of the complete lack of transparency with regard to Obama’s background, I have long suspected that Obama belongs to the first. I have previously stated my belief that Obama represents the third attack on our nation (the first and second being the attacks on the World Trade Center They used our own planes...; they used our own election system to plant a Trojan horse among us.) It’s difficult to come to any other conclusion given all he has managed to do thus far. Our system of governance remains at high risk; as does our economy. If any one of these should fall, we are cooked.

We already have so much on our table domestically, it’s difficult to focus on international affairs. Suffice it to say, it doesn’t look good for Israel, historically speaking, our most loyal and trusted ally.

We Have To Pretend...

What’s disturbing is that we’re still in Afghanistan. Our government is running this show. Who knows why? Despite the media’s best effort to put 9/11 on the backburner, it keeps mutating - popping up in most surprising guises. The latest happens to be that pesky mosque our government wants to build in conjunction with Islam near our sacred Ground Zero burial site. This pits our people against the government which seemingly has aligned itself with our self-proclaimed enemy.

Who would have foreseen this twist back in 2001? You really can’t make this stuff up. When the Towers fell, we are told, we had the full support of the world. When Bush came to office he inherited a surplus. Everything that was good, we are told, was squandered by Bush. History started and ended with Bush. Now, poor Obama, our historic messiah is simply trying to put things right.

In order to do this we have to roll back time. We have to pretend 9/11 never happened. We have to pretend that Muslims don’t hate us. We have to pretend that they won’t fight to the last man to get us to submit (to sharia). We have to pretend that they wouldn’t murder every last Jew if given even half the chance. We have to pretend we’re unified. We have to pretend the opposition - defined as anyone criticizing Obama’s policies - has had its tongue cut out; that the noise it generates is mere gibberish. We have to pretend that our president is not a Muslim. We have to pretend that he doesn‘t want to change us fundamentally into some version of Satan. We have to pretend we’re continuing to fight an inherited war without strategy, without history, without reason. (Note: This last point could be true.)

We have to pretend we’re not simply going through the motions of governing. We have to pretend we’re fighting a war we are winning. We have to pretend that we are not the enemy. We have to pretend we are not doing our damnest to destroy the dollar. We have to pretend that the doors to the Trojan horse we dragged into our courtyard have yet to open.

With all we are asked to believe (that goes against everything we know to be true), what are we going to tell the Taliban that will change their precious hearts and minds?

Feelin' Alright?

Has luck finally run out for this president? Keeping in mind that luck is 10% opportunity and 90% preparedness, that is the question the main stream media will be asking itself during the now fast approaching hurricane season and beyond. It’s becoming increasingly apparent that their reporting with regard to Barack Hussein Obama has been consistently skewed in favor of the ‘opportunity’ part while totally ignoring the bit about ‘preparedness’ (or competence).

Comparisons to Bush’s presidency have long since lost their edge. Obama has been at the helm long enough for us to have forgotten much of what it was that irked us so much about Bush. Increasingly we look back longingly to times when we could still afford much, including the luxury of bashing the Republican team with abandon.

We have not been bashing Obama. Is that because Obama has been perfect? Few would think so today. (God, the guy lied – and we fell for it!) It’s rather that we have finally come to acknowledge the close connection between our country and its leader. During the eight years of the Bush administration we were under the general impression that our country was strong; that it could easily withstand our joyous bashing of its leadership. Today, we feel as vulnerable as Obama looks. We’ve come to the conclusion that the two go hand in hand; that if Obama fails, the nation fails - we fail.

No, we refrain from bashing Obama because, in doing so, we basically weaken ourselves even more. And we cannot stand too much more self-flagellation. Hurricanes, earthquakes and volcanoes, of course, are natural phenomenon. Acts of God can’t be helped. It is our ability to respond effectively that is now in question. What about man-made contingency operations such as financial collapse, getting ill due to smoking or drinking Coke and eating too much fat? What about oil spills? Civil unrest? Insubordination? War? It hasn’t been looking so good all the way around. We seem to have run out of all the big ideas, including the biggest one of all: Yes we can!

Disaster appears to be lurking on every conceivable corner. Government is our life vest – or so we’ve been told. This vest has been shown to be severely deflated and barely functioning. What will we do should something really bad happen? Our anxiety is heightened with all this talk going ‘round about Manchurian candidates, Trojan Horses and such. Will we really be forced into having to take care of ourselves? Can we?

It’s best to tread lightly for now. It’s not because we particularly like the guy – the big ‘O’. It’s because we feel he’s all we’ve got. We’ve got to make what we’ve got work – at least for as long as it takes to replace him with a sturdier model.
