MD - You make a great point! Look, either there is coincidence or there’s not. If not, then nothing could possibly exist. So, obviously there must be a guiding hand behind everything. As far as people who just love to claim credit for nearly everything are concerned, their credit generally extends to no more than simply being there.

Same with people who do things that they may wish to distance themselves from. Therefore, the most plausible excuse is to say, “I wasn’t there.”

But we were all there! We elected Obama. We never bothered to find out who he was and what he was trying to do. All that has happened to date since Obama took office is to a large extent - not only his, but - our fault. There are no coincidences.

While we may heap either praise or blame on any specific individual (or individuals) for ‘being there’ we cannot remove ourselves from the equation. As far as all that’s happened since Obama’s been in office - none of it good for America - I, at this point, would not put anything past our leadership. There have been oil spills, rising unemployment, rising fuel and food prices, rolling blackouts, constitutional crisis, stolen elections, housing slumps, terrorist threats, Wikileaks, revolutions, and the head honcho of China even flipped us the bird to boot; and Obama was there the whole time, and so were we. And I don’t see things getting any better. If you ask me, the whole bunch of them should be thrown in jail for one thing or another.

Wikileaks was said to be a factor in the Egyptian revolution and in various other diplomatic unpleasantness (mostly involving us), yet I never heard the president say much about it. An executive of Google was said to have played a role in getting the people of Egypt all riled up. And I see Google itself closely tied in with this administration. And it smacks very much of incest. Wall Street is said to be thriving; and, there too, I see a connection - while my 401K remains on life support. Now they’re thinking of moving Wall Street lock, stock, and barrel over to Germany.

In other words, I’m growing extremely suspicious of the way the president is handling things. Even though we’re out here too, asking questions; we seem to have been shunted aside and denied a fair hearing.

To me it’s criminal what has happened to our nation. Assange is not the only one at fault here. To focus on him alone is missing the point. There are lot of hands involved in the making of this pie. And we, as it turns out, happen to be the blackbirds.

Toy Room

The U.S.-led NATO forces are not going to prevail. Not because they can’t. but because we don’t want them to. There’s s something else afoot. Pakistan is a failed state. Obviously it’s not a failed state to China. Ditto, North Korea.

There are any number of failed states being gathered up in South America, Africa, and in the Middle East. Assange can work both sides of the fence depending on which side you talk to. There’s even someone out there who finds terrorism useful, otherwise it would stop.

We’re being played. India, Israel and a whole slew of other nations don’t know it yet. They still believes the deck isn’t stacked. And this might surprise you: The culprits are not necessarily the culprits we are made to hate. This is simply a diversion. The culprits are inside our own American house.

America is the strongest, most opulent house on the block. Could there be any doubt that America is not in charge of its own affairs?

We’re told that America is in decline. The biggest house on the block never falls on hard times. But, at the same time, it remains free to make additions or alterations if the owners should so decide. The biggest house on the block determines its own changes. The change is toward totalitarianism. Things can be done either by doing or not doing. You don’t roll your mother-in-law off the cliff and into a lake, and then jump into the water and rescue her (though, on second thought, this ploy too has been tried before).

Suffice it to say that change is at hand. Our people already have an inkling of it. They are finding themselves increasingly marginalized. They feel they are being herded through a maze. They are made to argue amongst themselves as to what it all means. They’re not getting the straight story. The (stealth) narrative belongs to Obama, Pelosi, Soros, and Reid. WikiLeaks is only a part of the deception - so is Pakistan, North Korea, China, et al. The toy room is America.

China Laughing While U.S. Downgrades Military To Paintball

Why even bother to report it? (North Korea's continued provocations.) We no longer have a dog in the fight. We’ve shown quite unambiguously that we are no longer interested in fighting/winning. We seem to be intent on castrating our armed forces. We no longer see them as a blunt tool to support our now thoroughly compromised diplomacy; rather, we are in the process of re-shaping this once awesome tool to reflect some ‘less is more’ ideology with the vague expectation that the world will think this is great and follow our lead.

The damage this president has done to our military in his two years in office is astounding. First, he has ordered it to engage in a war without aiming to win. He has placed restrictions on our fighting men and women that make it difficult even to stay alive. Wikileaks enters into it at some level, as does the heroic repeal of ’don’t ask, don’t tell’.

I predict within less than a year, the military will be hard up for recruits and we may have to revert to something akin to the draft. The outlines of this are already apparent: amnesty for service. Until now, we have seen very few minorities among our fighting forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. This has to be pointed out because the Left has up until recently always falsely claimed that America only sends it minorities oversees and into harm’s way to fight it’s dirty wars. (They’ve since had to be content with complaining about the relatively high incarceration rate among certain minority communities.) All this will change.

Prisoners will now fight ‘clean’ wars. They will not be expected to win - only to stay alive while ordered to hand out food and bandages to the starving and wounded. Military missions oversees will likely evolve into setting up abortion and sex clinics, and (don’t forget) welfare offices, thus providing an ever escalating stream of entitlement clientele for liberals here at home to administer.

It is unlikely that China will go along with the program though, admittedly, they may laugh themselves silly and thus suffer some minor set-backs in their quest to take over the world.

Transfer of Dominance

Like everything else, our administration’s announced suspension of its now obvious policy of forcing Israel into an ever-shrinking box can be seen in one of two ways. Supporters of Israel (and Israel itself) will say that Obama has learned his lesson and realized that the Palestinian side of the conflict has never had it as its goal to make peace, and has no intention of doing so no matter how many concessions Israel might make. The denouncers of Israel (and America) will claim that they have succeeded in forcing Obama out of the game.

Both positions contain an element of truth. The real question that needs be asked is: Why has Obama in effect given up, taken his toys and gone home? And why now?

Wikileaks may have played a part. Revelations so far have pretty much left Israel smelling like a rose. It could just be that our president has seen the writing on the wall. He could be thinking that something is about to happen over there and he wants to make sure he’s as far away from it as possible when it blows. In other words, he’s ducking.

There’s always the possibility of war, of course. Yet, short of outright hostilities, diplomatic efforts - now underway - involving nations beyond White House influence could also unmask Obama’s shameless dereliction of responsibility (and climb-down) with regard to one of America’s heretofore closest allies in the Middle East.

The UN is said to introduce a resolution which will unilaterally declare Palestine a state. It is likely to be overwhelmingly supported by its member nations. The American media will paint this development as a total surprise. The U.S. will abstain from voting, breaking with its previous policy. Instead, China will veto, and the transfer of global dominance will be complete.

Whatever happens will happen. Obama has decided he’ll have no part in it. His lack of leadership will once again be exposed, providing fresh impetus for unaligned nations to rally around a winner.

Sex and Blood

The Wikileaks commotion has taken another astounding turn. Under vicious assault, the West has retreated into it’s comfort zone: sex. Sex seems to be all we have left to stand up to the barbarian hoards. We disseminate sex in international airport terminals, in major news dispatches; we use it to crucify our politicians; we stream it over the internet; we march en masse for (what we term) 'human rights' causes involving sex; we spend great sums on sex and its consequences. We have made sex into a god with multiple faces and each one is worshipped by its own exclusive sect of ecstatic revelers.

Islam is devoted to blood: the blood of their animals; the blood of its tireless fighters; the blood of their enemies; their own blood grievance and revenge.

We, on the other hand, can’t stand the sight of blood and Islam knows this. So, they inundate us with blood and we, in turn, inundate them with sex (which we know they can’t stand). There seems to be no common ground where we can meet and discuss things calmly. This struggle is destined to go on and on, as we are not about to accept their blood (sacrifice); and they’re not about to be intimidated by sex.

Assange feels perfectly safe. Sex has never been known to kill outright.

Went to a Christmas party at my mother’s church today. It was her first outing since falling ill three months ago. There were mostly elderly people. The pastor sat at our table. He related some experiences he had while serving as a missionary in Malawi. He said that the plight of women in Africa improved wherever Christianity was introduced. I wanted to ask (but held my tongue), “By whose standards?

No Trace

The tax issue is important, no doubt. If Republicans end up with some kind of victory here, so much the better. I still have my doubts. In any case, the wrangling in Washington continues to provide high drama - a suitable distraction for what else may be happening that may be equally important and potentially, perhaps, even more so.

I’ve heard it said that Wikileaks amounts to nothing less than an attack on America. (Now follow me on this.) What’s our president been doing about it? Nothing. Barring the suspicion of some who say that he himself is behind it, he’s surely thinking, “How can we exploit this?” Remember, “Never let a crisis go to waste.”

Similar to Obama’s first reaction to the oil spill - to let it go on and watch how bad it can get - his reaction to Wikileaks appears calculated. (The oil spill, by the way, achieved its purpose. Nobody makes hardly a peep about Obama’s 7-year drilling ban.) Now we’re seeing reports that Wikileaks will be targeting the likes of China, Russia, Iran and Venezuela as well. Don’t you believe it! The target was and remains America. America is the one with the bulls eye painted on its hind quarters.

How so? Well, for one thing, nobody is apt to want to talk to us on the record anymore. So, what happens to the Freedom of Information Act if it is agreed that public records no longer be kept for fear of exposure? Discussions and deals between us and other nations would have to be made in secure, smoke-filled rooms and sealed with a word or handshake. No traces left of it after it’s over, no hard copy of what was discussed or agreed to, lots of deniability - in short, no accountability.

We’ll be left in the dark and guessing about what’s happening - a wildly auspicious circumstance for any self-proclaimed tyrant.

Leech Treatments

I seriously doubt that countries like China and Russia will ever become a target of Wikileaks. These remain vulnerable only to the extent that they have had dealings with the U.S. and that such contact may have compromised their integrity in some way. To me the aim here is clear: It is to isolate the U.S. diplomatically; to marginalize any association with the U.S. by declaring it risky to engage her in the first place.

By it, other countries are warned to keep away; that they run the risk of being exposed. It is a part of a continuing worldwide campaign to reduce America’s influence on the world stage (which may explain Obama’s reluctance to do much of anything about it). It is to force other countries into the arms of lesser powers who are just now beginning to make moves to fill the (world) leadership vacuum and, at the same time, distance themselves from what is now seen as the American leper.

Still, you've got to admit Wikileaks represents what has become a classic strategy - whether successful or not - coordinated attacks from within and without. Sapientia is right, Venezuela and S. Africa among others will never be targets.

It's a shame that there are now nearly as many Trojan horses (Bradley Manning, et al) inside as out. It has become fashionable to draw American blood. Perhaps we can withstand it for now - but for how long? Those who claim that we are invincible should remember that George Washington too was considered to be basically healthy before his leech treatment commenced.

Pay-Off

I’m not surprised that the administration has decided to bail out European banks. Europe still sees Obama as the bright, young articulate; noble descendant of slaves who has come (back) to exact his revenge. They don’t yet see him as the radical bomb thrower - too lazy to do his homework - most of us have now come to know.

European bankers are not stupid. They know exactly that the whole financial mess started in the U.S. with the housing crisis; which in turn affected bank balance sheets; which then caused bankers to spread the damage around by disseminating toxic IOU’s all over the world - including Europe - hoping that no one would notice.

European bankers are not lapdogs of the American government. They are free to speak out and expose certain truths, especially in regard to who might have been involved in the initial fraud; and they could name the names of the corrupt institutions (Fannie and Freddie) and politicians (Frank and Dodd among many others) who perpetuated and protected these schemes to their own advantage. These have not gone away and crawled under rocks in abject shame. They are still with us and, in many instances, still formulating policies that rob the American worker of the fruit of his labors - all, in name of some half-baked anti-capitalist notion of ‘social justice‘.

Our paying off the Europeans amounts to a tacit admission that none of it has worked as advertised; that we were essentially at fault for having promoted such claptrap under questionable guise. We are paying them off to buy their continued silence and thus save the skins of our guilty. If they (European bankers) were to talk, the revelations would put even Wikileaks to shame.

The global financial meltdown (which we started) can no longer be blamed on capitalism alone. Socialist and communist countries have not been immune. I am not one to blame America at the drop of a hat, but this has been our fault from the start. If we are to apologize for anything, this is it; if we are on the hook for reparations, this is it. If we should not be able to afford the cost of making amends, or if there is a political price to pay, so be it. What we have done to get this slime ball rolling is criminal - entirely worthy of Interpol investigation and subsequent World Court proceeding - and the Europeans are well aware of it. And we know that they know.

Wikileaks Proves It

"To the extent there are gaps in our laws," Holder continued, "we will move to close those gaps…"

Where I used to work, the mistake my company (armored cash transport) consistently made was that every time somebody did (stole or lost) something, they issued new rules that applied to everybody. The rulebook got to be so unwieldy that it ended up with nobody following any rules. What we should have done is hold the bad eggs responsible, punish them, and set an example.

In this case, the new rules will be designed to tighten the weave of the net to catch more people doing what the government determines as 'bad'.

The truth is, that as far as our foreign policy is concerned, there is no coordination in Washington. The various foreign policy arms continue to operate without leadership. Obama has likely told each one of his foreign policy czars to continue just as before, and indicated that he has no personal interest in any foreign policy matter (aside from Muslim outreach). As a result, these departments are now in disarray and nobody knows precisely what they are supposed to be doing.

While it is true that nothing new has been revealed (by Wikileaks) that those paying attention do not already know, it is equally true that there is no single rational objective as far as our foreign policy is concerned. (Emphasis on ‘rational’.) The administration continues to rhetorically pound the view that Israel is to blame for all the trouble in the Middle East. The leaks present a different, far more complex picture.

What are we to glean from this? Who is to be believed? The administration that seeks to demonize Israel (and America) at every turn? or operations who monitor the situation daily? The silver ball comes to rest on red. Power is the only player, no matter what the facts. Obama has the power. He does not like Israel. Politically he can do very little directly to cause Israel harm. But by letting the clock run down, keeping the pressure off (or putting it on), he can wrap layer upon layer of deceit around the issue and keep Israel hanging until it makes a mistake.

Every one of our allies has been made to walk a tightrope while America’s enemies realize more and more that they’re standing on solid ground. Wikileaks all but proves it.

Wikileaks: Promoting Shame

Of course the Chinese knew what N. Korea was up to. N. Korea is a Chinese proxy. N. Korea could not exist without China. The idea that N. Korea would do anything behind China’s back is ludicrous.

Iran too has its proxies that are hyperactive in the Middle East. JB has spent many hours detailing how it works. Our State Department, for public consumption, points fingers at N. Korea, Syria, Hezbollah, etc. to keep from pointing fingers at Beijing and Tehran. What exactly is gained by this strategy remains unclear.

The Wikileaks matter is quite fascinating in this regard. Washington too has its proxies many of whom have dried up (or are in the process of drying up) particularly since our current president has been in office. He is now claiming that the Wikileak document dumps represent a security risk. This is pure lip service on his part. His actions speak otherwise. Obama has done nothing to reign in Wikileaks. The military is screaming that it has put our soldiers at risk. True enough, but Obama has done more to put them at risk than Wikileaks ever could. No need on this website to go into details. Everyone is pretty much up to speed on how our own rules of engagement - threat of court martial right here at home - have undermined our military effort.

Now, that the leaks are beginning to put the lie to the public face of our diplomatic goals, Washington is starting to make noise (in protest). “It’s embarrassing,” goes the refrain from the State Department. Embarrassing? Quite.

The global consensus, fueled in large part by Washington itself, has been that anything Washington does is in many ways self-serving, duplicitous, and essentially evil. That is why U.S. aid to the starving or sick in Africa is routinely re-packaged as to erase any sign of its origin. Embarrassed too is anyone who may be exposed as having collaborated with Americans on any level.

Obama does nothing. We can assume Wikileaks serves his purposes. The next leaks are said to pertain to our banks. More nails to hammer the coffin lid on capitalism shut.

Finally, the common denominator in all this frantic leaking is America. There are no leaks with regard to Beijing, Moscow or Tehran. Oh, there are leaks alright, but they're not splashed all over the NYT which is only interested in America’s sins and in promoting its shame.

Everyone Is Guilty

The temptation to turn WikiLeaks into a wedge issue is an indication of the state-controlled media attempting to make yet another statement in support of its overall agenda. We saw the same thing happening in response to the killing of employees at a Connecticut beer distributor; and, before that, the shooting of military personnel at Fort Hood. In each of these cases, the media went out of its way to cast the criminal as ‘victim’. (There are innumerable other such examples.)

This, of course, obscures the fact; first, that a horrendous crime has been committed; and, second, that there already exists a well-entrenched history of emphasis and intent, ceaselessly being stoked by both our government and its propaganda appendages.

There can be no doubt that our current political class feeds on division. Therefore, division and disharmony is promoted on every level of officialdom. Our reflex response to any incident has become so thoroughly conditioned as to immediately seek victim status for the aggressor, and aggressor status for the victim.

The gun violence this past weekend in the Bronx (NY) immediately becomes a debate about the second amendment, to further the cause of those who would challenge it. Lost in all this is the appreciation for the obvious fact that a crime has been committed by someone who deserves to be punished.

‘No fault crime’ has become the focus of the game. When something goes down, everybody must be made to pay equally. Everyone is guilty. No one escapes scrutiny. We live in a land where everyone is a suspect; where everyone must be watched and kept on a short leash, and no one is trusted; most especially the press, which we all have come to know has a singular agenda of shilling for our present government which, in turn, demands ever greater control over our lives, extending now even to what we can and cannot do in our bedrooms. I’m surprised JB fell for it.

No War; No Oil; No America

The phrase, “politics stops at the water’s edge” is a now famous adage accredited to a number of American politicians, most notably (perhaps) to Arthur Vandenberg, a respected Republican senator from Michigan back in the 1940’s. It recognizes that the efficacy of the president should not be diluted by partisan parochial debate when it comes to foreign affairs or when our national security is challenged as during war. All this, of course, is assuming that the president has our best interests in mind.

Americans have been largely content to leave the execution of foreign policy to the ‘experts‘ - this, with the understanding that there is so much going on out there, much of it unfathomable to the average amateur weekend warrior; and some of it, no doubt, more than we’d feel comfortable in knowing. After 9/11, then President Bush told us to expect many changes; that some of these would affect us directly while others would pass beneath the radar, implying that the government was working on numerous levels to protect us. The proof was in the pudding: There were no further attacks on Americans, on American soil during the Bush presidency.

As the political climate within our own country reached the boiling point, the old adage was literally trampled underfoot. Portions of Bush’s clandestine policies overseas were deliberately leaked and hotly debated in Congress and out on Main Street. It was all done in a blatant effort by the Left to unseat Republicans. As such, military strategies became less and less effective. It is interesting to note that the WikiLeaks appear to deal with documents primarily from the Bush era, thereby (possibly) setting the stage for ‘crimes against humanity’ litigation and state-run show trials.

Obama is touched by WikiLeaks only insofar as he is seen as continuing Bush’s policies. In reality, though, he is simply letting the momentum of what Bush’s team started and maintained run down. It’s no secret that Obama doesn’t like war and means to end any possibility of it within his lifetime. It’s no secret that he views America as the one impediment to world peace that he himself can control.

Obama did not do too much to stop the WikiLeak document dump. In fact, unlike in the Pentagon Papers case, the University of East Anglia email revelations among other high profile surprise disclosures, there was plenty of warning this time around. It was almost as if Julian Assange was waiting for permission to leak his stuff. Outright permission never came, but neither did injunction.

Now we are told the president is wringing his hands about the whole thing, Don’t you believe it for a moment! Just like the oil spill, for him this was a welcome event. Let’s not kid ourselves; we know only too well where this man stands: no war; no oil; and, ultimately, no America.
