Cinderella's Bloody Glass Slipper

Since I had to carry a gun for my work, I needed to qualify every six months. Missing the target was not an option. It never is.

This morning I went downstairs for breakfast. I turned on the radio. And there it was: The obligatory jabs at both Trump and Palin – and all this by a New York local radio host who’s considered ‘conservative’. It seems we’ve all been down this road before. We just never learn. Back then, our fav piñata was Bush. What we wouldn’t give to have him back again!

Obama remains untouched. Every word of his is routinely afforded the gravitas it no longer deserves. We try so hard to fit this wicked stepsister’s foot into Cinderella’s glass slipper. It must be the slipper’s fault. And yet, midnight is fast approaching when everything turns to pumpkins.

The Left has no compunction in slicing off toes. In fact, they have the surgeons constantly standing at the ready. Never mind the spectacle of blood, smear and dishonesty which disgusts and, at the same time, fascinates. They work in tandem with the media, like a well oiled machine. Slice here and dice there, and the shoe is made to fit despite the corns.

There, on the front page of the WSJ, the headline reads, “Karzai Told to Dump U.S” – by Pakistan no less. Inside, there’s a story about the trial and conviction of ‘Big Fish’ Lee Farkas, former chairman of Taylor, Bean & Whitaker Mortgage. Only, it turns out, that Farkas wasn’t such a ‘Big Fish’ after all; that our government was behind it all (in the form of Fannie and Freddie Mac).

It’s just that the government has now assumed the status of ‘sacred cow’ and can never be touched. Instead we send up thousands to atone for the government’s sins. As Holman W. Jenkins, Jr. – author of “A Mortgage ‘Big Fish’ Disappoints” – laments, the whole thing “fails to confirm the media intuition that the housing boom and bust were brought on by the criminality by mortgage CEOs.”

Same with the spike in gas prices at the pump. It couldn’t possibly be due to Obama’s policies (even though he explicitly told us that he wants us to pay more for gas). It couldn’t possibly be due to the collapse of the dollar due to the government policy of printing images on paper and pretending it’s real money.

Overseas hangs the giant Libyan question mark – and Egypt, Iran, Syria and the entire Middle East. Then, there’s Russia and China; South America. What is it this president believes?

Bolton says there’s no rhyme or reason to Obama’s foreign policy. Really? Everywhere we look we lose. Sounds suspiciously like a plan.

At the very least, Kaddafi knows what he wants and he’s willing to go for it, even if it kills him. Anyone who can articulate what he wants, short of sh*t-canning their own nation has a leg up on Obama at this point. I’m not saying that Obama isn’t smart or doesn’t have goals. …and isn’t it remarkable how Obama just managed to get us to sh*t-can our own just by the ruse of releasing his birth certificate?

China Laughing While U.S. Downgrades Military To Paintball

Why even bother to report it? (North Korea's continued provocations.) We no longer have a dog in the fight. We’ve shown quite unambiguously that we are no longer interested in fighting/winning. We seem to be intent on castrating our armed forces. We no longer see them as a blunt tool to support our now thoroughly compromised diplomacy; rather, we are in the process of re-shaping this once awesome tool to reflect some ‘less is more’ ideology with the vague expectation that the world will think this is great and follow our lead.

The damage this president has done to our military in his two years in office is astounding. First, he has ordered it to engage in a war without aiming to win. He has placed restrictions on our fighting men and women that make it difficult even to stay alive. Wikileaks enters into it at some level, as does the heroic repeal of ’don’t ask, don’t tell’.

I predict within less than a year, the military will be hard up for recruits and we may have to revert to something akin to the draft. The outlines of this are already apparent: amnesty for service. Until now, we have seen very few minorities among our fighting forces in Afghanistan and Iraq. This has to be pointed out because the Left has up until recently always falsely claimed that America only sends it minorities oversees and into harm’s way to fight it’s dirty wars. (They’ve since had to be content with complaining about the relatively high incarceration rate among certain minority communities.) All this will change.

Prisoners will now fight ‘clean’ wars. They will not be expected to win - only to stay alive while ordered to hand out food and bandages to the starving and wounded. Military missions oversees will likely evolve into setting up abortion and sex clinics, and (don’t forget) welfare offices, thus providing an ever escalating stream of entitlement clientele for liberals here at home to administer.

It is unlikely that China will go along with the program though, admittedly, they may laugh themselves silly and thus suffer some minor set-backs in their quest to take over the world.

Kanthapura

The hard Left is not only anti-American; they’ve now ratcheted up the stakes and revealed themselves as being anti-human as well: Anything non-human must be preserved and protected at the expense of individuals. To the Left, humans are evil interlopers on a near-perfect planet. It is no wonder that they support abortion, eugenics and land grabs.

There’s something sick in this and the sickness has now spilled over into our politics. Except, they think we’re sick as well. We are often all too quick to accept their premise, after which point they’ve already won the argument.

Environmentalism has become as potent as Islam. When one flies internationally these days, the screen on the back of the seat in front of you shows the aircraft’s progress across the oceans and over the landmasses. The maps fail to show borders. Often there’s a disclaimer, saying that the maps are non-political; that national borders are deliberately omitted. There are so many border disputes at the moment, the airlines thought it best to avoid the issue entirely. Instead, only the locations of towns are given. These then can be seen as city states while the land around them is a kind of no-man’s land - fly-over country - to be randomly allotted to service the cities as is deemed appropriate. Nations are no longer willing to defend national borders. And indeed, the whole concept of national borders is rapidly growing irrelevant.

What is growing in importance is ideology. And ideology knows no borders. It has long been a dream of the Left to erase all borders and become global. The promise is peace. Unfortunately, conflict will never disappear. There will always be killing. In fact, in the absence of borders, wars may become even more virulent and deadly - as in civil war; pitting neighbor against neighbor, brother against brother, etc.

How does one fight such a war?

I have recently read “Kanthapura”, a novel by Raja Rao. In it he describes a winning strategy. He details how Gandhi’s influence on the grass roots built an invincible army against which the Crown could not win. The secret was peaceful resistance - with an emphasis on ‘peaceful’.

Most trouble in the world originates with ego. Take ego out of the equation, and one literally becomes invincible. This is a lesson the Tea Parties should take to heart, for the fight is drawing near. As the concept of borders crumbles and the emphasis shifts to ideology, the great armies that have so heroically defended us in the past become increasingly useless. We will need to depend largely on ourselves for survival. Rao’s Gandhi may have shown us the way.

A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing

At this point I would answer: yes, the Dems are (or should be) trying to lose. They say that those standing closest to the fire feel the heat most. Dems have been closest to Obama. They know (or should know) the score. They’ve watched as they’ve been reduced to kindling by their puppet masters. They know what’s in store for Republicans.

The media has been painting Democrat losses, retirements and defections as normal. It’s not normal! And this coming election won’t be normal. And neither will the next. Sure, Hillary will attempt to tamp down the jagged edge of Fabian Socialism a bit. The media will help. She is their ace in the hole - their salvation. Just like we view this election cycle as ours.

The truth be told, she is every bit as radical as Obama - a ‘wolf in sheep’s clothing‘, perhaps. They’re betting on another four to eight years of this drift. I don’t believe they’ll need it. We’re practically there already. In our country it started with legalized abortions; and now we’re already up to discussing eugenics openly.

JB has taught us that history repeats. I wish he would take some time and dig into the Fabian Society. There seem to be many bodies buried there.

We Won, They Lost

Obama has the facts alright - the facts he wants (us) to believe. In order for ideologies to survive, they need to be supported - if not with facts, then with lies. To our president, the only evil that has ever existed in this world is us. It is we who rape and pillage the planet; it is we who drop bombs and make war; it is we who live off the exploitation of the world's poor.

And we ourselves have gone along with it, happily spitting on the success and prosperity our forefathers have wrought, glibly casting their effort and sacrifice in the same light as our own sloth; ennui; nausea and nihilism. Therefore, it becomes possible for us to say that the dropping of the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki took little thought – like deciding to have an abortion or taking the garbage out.

Above all, it highlights the utter and profound disdain these people have for the nation that’s given them all she had to give – even the platform from which to ridicule her. I am not surprised that with new display of our leaders soiling themselves publicly on the global stage, our people’s outrage grows. It will reach a point where not even the state-sponsored media will be able to air-brush it away.

By the way, I think it is wrong to attempt to justify any war action in terms of soldiers lost as opposed to the soldiers that might have been lost. It’s the same algebra that Obama uses to justify copious spending in order to justify jobs ’saved’. What matters in war is WINNING, and only that.

There are always those who will contrive a rhetoric to blame America first for anything and everything. They represent the squeaky wheel that should at worst be no more than tiresome. The point is, WE WON/they lost. We have nothing to be ashamed of. When winning becomes the source of one’s shame, a civilization lapses into irrelevance.

Single-Issue Diversions

In response to the Catholic bishop's opposition to abortion funding as outlined in the Health Care bill:

This is just the latest attempt to stop this thing or (at the very least) to slow it down. People from all walks of life know that, should this bill ever reach the president's desk, it would do irreparable damage to the very foundation of what it has meant to be American. Symbolically, this attempt by the Obama administration to take over one sixth of the economy can be compared to the Taliban training their guns on the Bamyan Buddhas.

I’ve been accused of being intemperate in my comments, especially in regard to comparing the Obama administration to the Taliban. I feel it is not enough to oppose this administration on single issues such as abortion, for example. By doing so, one would be implying that everything else this administration does is alright and perfectly acceptable. It also puts one in the position of being forced to horse trade, like, “we’ll agree to take out abortion funding but you, in return, will no longer oppose us on immigration reform, ‘cap and trade’, etc.” when, in fact, nothing this administration has done and proposes to do is acceptable. Everything is designed to bankrupt the nation; to diminish our influence in world affairs; to dismiss the idea of ‘American Exceptionalism’ in its entirety. Many of us now realize that we are being driven down to a place where the center cannot hold; that the ultimate result that this administration appears to favor is utter and complete chaos.

Look at Afghanistan: utter and complete chaos, corruption and fear. Once our own situation reaches a point where it would take a wheelbarrow instead of a wallet to buy a tank of gas or a pack of cigarettes, you will find out how fast civil society unravels. I have heard nothing from this president that would in any way indicate that he is not totally committed to pursuing some horrific version of the Marxist revolution on our own shores.
