Party Crashers

Just as Bush wrecked the Republican Party (by yielding too much to Democrats), Obama is continuing with this Bush policy by doubling down and wrecking the Democrat Party as well, forcing it to govern against the will of the people. Bottom line: Congress is wrecked. The legitimacy of our representative government has been compromised. From here it’s only a small step for the executive branch to dissolve Congress altogether and establish itself as the only legitimate governing entity remaining.

The plan is to ignore the clamoring electorate – or even to criminalize the leaderless ad hoc opposition. In today’s WSJ, Mary Anastasia O’Grady tells how it was done in Ecuador; how President Rafael Correa managed to consolidate his power and create a left-wing tyranny. Obama, in the meantime, publicly endorses what has happened there by sending the State Department’s Arturo Valenzuela on a high profile courtesy visit - a clear continuation of his (Obama’s) charm offensive aimed at Latin American’s mushrooming authoritarian regimes.

No doubt, our president envies the seemingly unlimited powers of dictators around the world. At the same time, he eschews democracies. He clearly understands that the people no longer support him and his policies. Obama seems to be okay with that. It had only taken their fleeting support one time – enough to install him. He (Obama) would take care of the rest. Every one of our nation’s festering wounds (racism, abortion, poverty, fiscal instability, etc.) is in play. Each one will be exploited to wreck our system of its checks and balances, to divide and promote chaos. By the time it’s all over, the executive branch will be the only pillar left standing.

While we argue about the upcoming November election, Obama is busy consolidating his power. The election speculation at this point only serves as a useful distraction. By the time November arrives, it won’t matter a hill of Mexican jumping beans who we vote for. The re-making of America will have been complete. Odd to think that the one option – the November elections – that gives Americans so much hope at the moment could actually drop the veil of all pretense and expose a blushing America in its new tyrannical garb.
