Clouds Gathering

Things are starting to come into focus. Let’s stipulate for a moment that all we’ve been hearing is true; that Obama is actually native born, and that he succeeded in finding and killing Osama; that Osama hasn’t really been dead for years and that it’s not only just now that Obama is taking credit for his corpse. Let’s even say that Pakistan was involved in the ruse (which now seems likely) and that the whole thing hinged on a deal by which Obama get’s Osama and Pakistan gets Afghanistan. How does this help Obama?

Well, for one thing, judging from the reaction of both the left and right media, Obama is counting on his poll numbers to go up – and stay up. He’ll be able to say to the American public that the war in Afghanistan is now over and we can withdraw our troops. Americans would view this as welcome news and give full credit to our heroic and victorious president - and reelect him to a second term.

The problem is that the world has changed since 9/11. What has changed is that the Left and the Islamists are now united and are working in consort for a common goal. The movement that started with bin Laden is no longer strictly Arab based. It is based on the far broader idea of ending western capitalism. There are strong indications that Obama is quite on board with that. This would make POTUS our very own home-grown “Jihad Johnny” (Walker, a.k.a. ‘The American Taliban’).

The fly in the ointment is the Islamic inviolable desire to push Israel into the sea and that this must occur before anything else happens. POTUS has already shown himself as being no particular friend of Israel. Yet, he still depends heavily on (liberal) Jewish support. This would require him to play a double game. He must seem to please both the Arabs as well as the Jews.

The best way for him to proceed would be to work against Israel in a stealth manner. We note that every maneuver of his is designed to weaken Israel and strengthen her adversaries. It is my belief that he intends for Israel to fall while keeping his own hands clean. I do not believe this strategy will work. When push comes to shove, Israel will either successfully defend herself or receive help from an unexpected source. (China?)

At this point, the Left-Islamic coalition will come off the rails and the game will be exposed. The West will turn on a dime and fight back. None of this will be pretty to watch; but in the end all will turn out alright. The cleanup will be tremendous though. Economies will be in ruins and there will be plenty of blood. Islamists will meet up with their sainted martyrdom and the Left will be pursued to the ends of the earth.

We are reminded of the start of the Second World War. It’s difficult to imagine such a war without the U.S. being on the side of the good guys. But Germany turned out alright in the end, after everything was said and done. It’s just a shame that we will have to go through the whole mess all over again.

WAR: Comic Relief

Everywhere I turn today on the radio dial, I hear the usual yuck-yucks and clucks about what Obama did today. The war in Libya is topic number one of course. Japan has fallen to a distant third behind the many marriages of Elizabeth Taylor. Actually, the past few days we’ve seen very little of Obama. It has been Hillary Clinton who’s been out front, trying to explain this and that.

What’s curious about this is that war isn’t at all funny. The yuck-yucks center on the administration’s failure to explain how we got into it and what we can expect. The details we’re given change by the hour and are often contradictory. For instance, Obama claims that it’ll last just a few more days with us in charge, and then we’ll hand it off to some unspecified 'other'. Then, we learn, that nobody else wants it. It’s like watching a group of kids playing hot potato. Or, the kitchen sink gets clogged and we go in with all kinds of ‘shock and awe’ (to borrow a phrase). We ask the kid next door to come over and help. All he brings with him is a screwdriver while we’ve got the 130 ft. snake out. Whom are we hoping to hand off to? It’s comical, in a macabre kind of way. But here we are. The Germans have already pulled out. NATO is hiding in the tall grass. The others were never in. ‘Allies in disarray’ is how Drudge put it.

We’ve seen this before: an administration getting pummeled for deciding to go to war. Whether Kaddafi lives or dies is almost beside the point. It almost seems like the U.S. president is always the ultimate target of our scorn and ridicule; that as soon as any U.S. leader orders military intervention, it’s like, at the same time, he’s holding a loaded gun to his own head.

You might get the impression from reading this blog that I dislike Obama. The truth is I really don’t dislike him at all. His exploits have taken us in many unforeseen (and foreseen) directions. It’s been a blessing to be alive during these times of tumultuous change. The Obamas (in one incarnation or another) have always been with us. We’ve just never put them in charge of anything before. This time we did. And what did we expect? We got exactly what we voted for.

On today’s Glenn Beck radio program, the name Stephen Lerner surfaced in connection with a union plot to collapse the American economy. Later in the day, Limbaugh also spent a segment on it. This seems consistent with what happened before (just preceding the 2008 election). When the Justice Department was notified, they ignored what must surely constitute a serious threat. Say, the kid with the screwdriver (above) goes home and were to fantasize on Facebook about putting that screwdriver of his through Obama’s eye; he would no doubt get a visit from the Secret Service before sundown. Lerner, apparently is playing for the right team (unions). So, we can assume he can happily fly under the radar, as far as Big Sis is concerned.

Schoolyard Games (and Accidents)

Even more interesting to me than what’s happening at the moment is to watch the tectonic political plates of world alliances shifting. The heavy dude jumped off the see-saw, which sent all the other kids flying. Now the heavy dude is scrambling to get back on, but he’s hurt and someone’s taken him to the nurse’s office. She determines that the heavy dude is essentially out for the count; that there’s something other than just scratches, bumps and bruises ailing him. He may be insane.

Meanwhile, all the other kids are still crawling around on the ground. Some had their glasses knocked off. Now they’re trying to find each other. The see-saw has been abandoned. A new game must be found; new teams chosen. Turkey to Iran. Bahrain to the Saudis. Israel is the kid that no one will pick.

Germany to the Russians. The French want to go it alone. Pakistan to China. Brazil to Venezuela. India, alone. May have to form leagues with an eye towards finals. The fat kid still in rehab. Can no longer be counted on to do anything.

As the world turns: uncertainty and confusion. Posturing. Pawns are bleeding. Scramble, scramble. Where it ends up, nobody knows. ... and where the hell are the teachers? Union meetings, no doubt.

Dignity

Last night, the wind blew some tiles off the roof. I always wake up when one of them crashes and shatters. And I realized why the gambling house always wins; why Obama will ultimately be regarded as America’s savior. Why? Because he, perhaps more than any other man, has brought us face to face with our own mortality.

Saw “Import/Export” last night - a German film by Ulrich Seidl. It’s the kind of film best seen locked on fast-forward. As far as films go, there was something fundamentally wrong with it. It traced the lives of two young people from different parts of Europe - a man and a woman - struggling to survive. It was winter and the prospects for both looked pretty bleak. So much of what most of us take for granted, they didn’t have, like running water for instance.

The girl ends up in Germany which is only marginally better for her since she bears the legacy of communism and all its implications. The boy, Austrian, ends up working for his father in what was once referred to as 'die Ost-Zone'. Their lives never intersect.

Wisdom, knowledge, religion, grace, talent, skill - all are like mental jewelry. Any one of these takes years to nurture and develop. If conditions are right, they can mature into something far more precious than material wealth. We, here in America, have a better than even chance at all of it. There are people in other countries who don’t. In the past, they’ve looked west for a chance to earn what passes for human dignity. Some fall short, of course. They bring too much baggage along with them.

I look at my own children. They are adults now. Having made no serious mistakes to weigh them down, they are thriving as much as can be expected under current circumstances. But more than any of that, it is dignity that props them up. Dignity is the foundation of any successful endeavor. Without it, we remain stunted.

In the past few days, I’ve heard Wisconsin compared to Egypt. The people who say this have no clue. Our revolution (if you want to call it that) has nothing in common with what Egyptians are fighting for. Our grievance is a mere temper tantrum compared to theirs. Whereas we can go back to our homes and eat a good dinner after a day of marching and waving banners with pictures of Hitler and Che; they have nothing to come home to but begging, hoping that their bloodlust (which often masquerades as salvation) will sustain them another day.

Our tradition of individual dignity is at peril. It’s the only thing that’s held our noses above water for so many years. Obama has shown us that dignity’s fabric has frayed; that it may tear under stress if not properly repaired and maintained; that we may find ourselves chilled to the bone and huddling together like farm animals in a draughty barn; that the path downward is infinite, and that we have only just begun our descent.

Playing Dead

The sainted revolution over, it’s difficult to understand why protesters are still in Tahrir Square (which is really a circle). Reminds of when Obamacare was passed and the next day people started showing up at clinics and hospitals, demanding medical services.

Today, Egyptians are protesting low wages and high food prices. Anyone to venture a guess when this will change?

Conditions are liable to get worse for Egyptians - not better. For one thing, the army is now in charge. They control streets, not markets. Nefarious elements will begin to disrupt things even more in hopes of positioning themselves just behind the tip of the spear.

After WWII , after Germany had been decisively defeated, there was the U.S. to step in to help. I’m not saying Europe couldn’t have pulled itself out of the muck. I’m just saying, it would have taken them a lot longer without the Marshall Plan and good old American know-how.

Nobody to turn to now if you happen to crash your economy, have a revolution, or lose a war. America has given up on that gig. We’ve become green, taking nothing from the earth and subsisting entirely like Kobo Abe’s fictional, self-contained bug (eupcaccia) which he describes in the opening lines of his novel, “The Ark Sakura”, as subsisting entirely by eating its own feces.

And there is Obama, trying to take credit for what happened. In six months, Egyptians may well take him up on that. Meanwhile, unrest is said to be spreading throughout the Middle East. In his message to the Egyptian people, Obama voiced once again his commitment to stand by them, perhaps not yet realizing that, to the average Egyptian, any interference by America is like the kiss of death. Maybe his message was really directed at us? Oh, I don’t mean the Tea Parties. He can do without them - much too civilized; much too informed; stable. No, he means all the rabble that supports him. He’s been spoiling for a good fight. Republicans, it seems, aren’t really up to it. Much too eager to roll over and play dead.

Reply to MD Eastern Shore: Four And Twenty Blackbirds

MD - You make a great point! Look, either there is coincidence or there’s not. If not, then nothing could possibly exist. So, obviously there must be a guiding hand behind everything. As far as people who just love to claim credit for nearly everything are concerned, their credit generally extends to no more than simply being there.

Same with people who do things that they may wish to distance themselves from. Therefore, the most plausible excuse is to say, “I wasn’t there.”

But we were all there! We elected Obama. We never bothered to find out who he was and what he was trying to do. All that has happened to date since Obama took office is to a large extent - not only his, but - our fault. There are no coincidences.

While we may heap either praise or blame on any specific individual (or individuals) for ‘being there’ we cannot remove ourselves from the equation. As far as all that’s happened since Obama’s been in office - none of it good for America - I, at this point, would not put anything past our leadership. There have been oil spills, rising unemployment, rising fuel and food prices, rolling blackouts, constitutional crisis, stolen elections, housing slumps, terrorist threats, Wikileaks, revolutions, and the head honcho of China even flipped us the bird to boot; and Obama was there the whole time, and so were we. And I don’t see things getting any better. If you ask me, the whole bunch of them should be thrown in jail for one thing or another.

Wikileaks was said to be a factor in the Egyptian revolution and in various other diplomatic unpleasantness (mostly involving us), yet I never heard the president say much about it. An executive of Google was said to have played a role in getting the people of Egypt all riled up. And I see Google itself closely tied in with this administration. And it smacks very much of incest. Wall Street is said to be thriving; and, there too, I see a connection - while my 401K remains on life support. Now they’re thinking of moving Wall Street lock, stock, and barrel over to Germany.

In other words, I’m growing extremely suspicious of the way the president is handling things. Even though we’re out here too, asking questions; we seem to have been shunted aside and denied a fair hearing.

To me it’s criminal what has happened to our nation. Assange is not the only one at fault here. To focus on him alone is missing the point. There are lot of hands involved in the making of this pie. And we, as it turns out, happen to be the blackbirds.

We Are Building a Religion

As we go back and forth and speculate about what might yet happen (in Egypt), we should go straight to the horse’s mouth. Let’s ask our president directly what it is that he wants to happen. And while we’re at it, let’s ask him straight out what he has in mind for the U.S. Let’s ask him to explain why he is doing what, and what he is hoping to accomplish by doing so. And let’s pretend to believe what he says.

By the way, there’s a great opinion column in the WSJ this morning (Feb. 1) by Bret Stephens entitled “Being Mubarak”. It takes an interesting slant, speculating that the old fox (Mubarak) may yet have some tricks up his sleeve.

It is what it is (and has been for some 30 odd years). There was a reason for why we supported Egypt and, I might add, Israel. With the election of Obama, those reasons have eroded. We turn our backs to both - and things happen. Read Caroline Glick’s column in the JPOST today. What we (in the West) define as ‘success’ is not defined as ‘success’ among Islamists (or communists). Our metrics are not valid there. Any attempt at such comparison may be regarded as ‘category error‘.

What if the revolution succeeds? What if the dominos fall, one by one; and an Islamic Caliphate emerges - one that is hostile to the West? And there is a genocide? Would it end with the destruction of Israel? Maybe so. Or would it gather steam and push into Europe? By the way, would Europe be capable of defending itself?

What if it were found that the American president actively participated in engineering the revolution in the Middle East by withdrawing key supports; manipulating food prices world-wide; deliberately crashing economies by way of monetary policy; supporting radical elements in the name of ‘social justice’? Would we be spared the indignity of shariah? Would he? Not likely. Traitors are universally despised, even under the minimal discipline of chaos.

The twelfth imam is likely to credit his own and pay scant attention to the welfare of foreign accomplices.

In any case, it’ll be the Atlantic that will shield us from the worst of it. Having allowed ourselves to come to this point, however, will haunt us into eternity. We will spend the rest of our lives apologizing, wearing sack cloth, wailing, and tearing our hair. No more arrogance; no more illusions of ‘American exceptionalism‘. We’ll have to rebuild slowly and painfully; our civilization will re-emerge, (this time) stripped of excess and bravado. We’ll have to harden ourselves to the hurled scorn of the betrayed, and forever suffer the weight of insurmountable guilt.

Only the Germans currently have a sense of it. They have been blessed with every attribute that would facilitate achieving unparalleled success; but, at the same time, they know they have forever forfeited their chance at enduring greatness.

Taking First Aim

China is in the process of consolidating its power in its part of the world just like Iran is doing in the Middle East. China is confident it can get away with this now because it no longer views the U.S. as a credible roadblock. Obama’s foreign policy is seen to be aimless and lacking any and all conviction. Additionally, China feels it holds the trump move (two queens acting simultaneously) in what we regard as this, our interminable chess tournament of nations: the U.S. debt. The newest strategy for success holds that those who control the debt always win. China has situated herself so that she could wreck the U.S. economy with a single word. Obama is well aware of this.

Unappreciated by China, perhaps, is the likelihood that the present U.S. administration does not care in the least about the U.S. economy; that it is possible that it will at some point even goad China into pulling the plug and purposely send our economy into a tailspin, thus removing the debt threat weapon from the board entirely.

Still, for China, it would come out to one and the same: America voluntarily quitting the world stage and leaving China to do what it wants.

It has often been said that familiarity breeds contempt. China and Japan, both intensely nationalistic, will never see eye to eye. There are factions in the Middle East for which this is equally true. Even the European Union will not survive as the big players, Germany and France, will always plot to secure advantage. This truism is so deeply ingrained in the human condition, we even see it played out on the mean streets of American urban centers where black on black crime is rampant.

The tendency to see ourselves - or those who look most like us - as our primary enemy never fails. It comes to the fore particularly in times of social and economic stress. It is always those that most closely resemble us at whom we take first aim; not realizing, perhaps, that we are sticking our fingers into profoundly intimate wounds that have long since bled dry.

Fighting Back

Brad Manning has already become a hero - a martyr - for the anti-war Left. This group has separated itself from the “official” Left that is now in charge of Washington. It is yet another indication that the center (of the Left) cannot hold.

Today, Switzerland celebrates its National Day. The date (August 1st) was inspired by the signing of the Federal Charter of 1291. What is notable and widely acknowledged as being the essence of the Swiss nation is that is has been able to maintain its strict neutrality during times of global dispute. This is not to say that the individuals of this small, landlocked Alpine country do not have opinions about global issues and tensions. Neither are they reluctant to express their preference. During WWII, for instance, Hitler threatened to invade and occupy Switzerland as well. It had become a relatively tranquil center in which spies of all stripes could house their networks. Also, situated as it is at the crossroads of Europe, the Swiss made it clear that they were prepared to blow up their bridges, tunnels and passes should any foreign army set foot within its sovereign territory. In the end, the country was spared from the physical ravages of war.

As a child, I often crossed the border between Germany and Switzerland by train. Even I could clearly see the difference. By the 1950’s, Germany was not bad, if somewhat ragged at the edges. Switzerland, however, was pristine, almost as if every blade of grass had been carefully manicured.

Today, it is we the people who are blowing up our bridges, tunnels and mountain passes. It is we who are keeping Barack Hussein Obama from achieving his communist Utopia. We are denying him economic success by sitting on our hands and dragging our feet. We are not working, innovating, expanding. While he blames the system for its failures to create jobs, it is we who are singularly responsible for this. We are not victims. We are fighting this political interloper in the only way we can, by taking a passive-aggressive stance. It is far too soon for anyone to take over our country. We will send him and his cronies packing by denying them the considerable weight of our support. We can turn this thing around. And, when we do, we will continue as we have in the past and make this into a nation we can be proud of.

I attended the ceremonies yesterday in New York’s Central Park. There was wine and music and an abundance of good cheer. The flags of every Swiss canton were proudly displayed. There was raclette, potatoes, bratwurst and beer. The performing seals, however, stole the show.

Germany Bails Out Greece

The big political battle of our time is the struggle between Left and Right. The Left is winning. It’s late in the fourth quarter, the score is tied and the Left has the ball on the Right’s three-yard line. Merkel knows how the game will end. By calling for a time out now – by agreeing to bail out Greece - she intends to postpone the inevitable, hoping to no longer be on the field when the final score is announced. In German it’s called Realpolitik.

The Left seeks the total collapse of world currencies. By beggaring the middle classes, they intend to bring about the chaos that would usher in totalitarian state communism. Bailing out Greece at this point merely kicks the can down the road. Further bailouts are all but inevitable. This will anger the German populace to the point of turning its rage against Merkel’s right-of-center party. Leftists will take up the reigns. The next time the issue of the PIIGS needing money arises, there will be no hesitation about what to do. Neither will there be any incentive for any individual nation to pursue economically sound policies. The Euro will collapse, followed by societal upheaval. In the people’s frenzy to save themselves, they will seek out scapegoats. As Batchelor often says, “There will be blood.” The perceived ‘rich’ will be targeted and sacrificed on the altar of ‘Social Justice' (and Merkel will be permitted to sit by, knitting).

After the revolution, people will be starving and begging for leadership. Strongmen will emerge and rewire the West into a series of cooperative communist dictatorships in which economic principles no longer apply. Cronyism, brutality and ideology will comprise the new world currency.

First They Came...

The above is a popular quote attributable to Pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group. The present ‘health care’ drama is a classic modern-day example of just what the good German pastor was talking about. Legislators are being given a false choice to vote either yes or no on a deeply flawed bill. In effect, they’ve been given a loaded gun. Either way they vote, they fatally damage themselves and, with it, their institution.

Some of our representatives have already recognized the ploy. After a long and prolific career sucking at the public troth, they have recused themselves; jumped ship. It was the only way to avoid a virtual bloodbath of embarrassment. Their intimate and long association with Washington high jinx has taught them that the gig is now up; that the progressives now rule; and that there are no longer any rules.

They recognized that they’ve been playing along without it ever having occurred to them that some day they too might stand in the cross hairs. They’d stood by and watched as the courts have been polluted; as once mighty industrialists and financiers have been dragged in front of congressional kangaroo courts and publicly castrated; as the desperate cries of the American people have been deliberately ignored; as our country’s founders have been discredited; our Constitution shredded; our press hobbled; religion disparaged; etc.

There’s no one left to save them now. Even the occasional sane utterance is but spit in the wind. The progressives are on the march. What will stop them? The military? What, military? You mean the one that’s still arguing about ‘don’t ask; don’t tell’? The military that’s already been issued its own poisoned pill to swallow?

We Are Leaderless

I recently read a short story by Heinrich von Kleist (1777-1811) entitled, "The Earthquake in Chile". German writers of that time wrote with the intention of making a grand, universal statement, rather than (what has become fashionable of late) presenting simply a 'slice of life'. Kleist's intent was to buttress the theme that the effects of any sudden and unexpected act of God, resulting in cataclysmic death and destruction, will be overcome in relatively short order and the affected population continues exactly as before.

This is quite opposed to the notion that the temporary leveling of cities and the social order will result in a fresh and optimistic start for the survivors. No, Kleist clearly maintains by example that what was bad before, remains bad; and what was good, remains good. We have seen in our own recent history as Germany has emerged as a world power even after having been bombed into the Stone Age. The same is true of Japan. Both countries had advanced and resourceful populations that refused to give up hope. It must be said that both nations accepted material aid (primarily from us) and knew to use it to their advantage rather than waste it on kleptocrats that know nothing but beggary.

Haiti was a failed state to begin with. It will resume as a failed state. Only now it will have an excuse to blame any number of (preferably) foreign actors, history and, of course, God. As such it will collapse even deeper into need. There is no viable government in Haiti. The people have existed in abject poverty despite the good graces of self-loathing charities and NGO's. A while back, I watched a program on the BBC showing a ‘slice of life’ in which a Haitian woman made her meager living on the streets of the capital making and selling mud pies for people to eat. What Haiti needs is a strong benevolent hand.

America could fit the bill but is reluctant to take the reigns. Already we have been accused of trying to take over the country. We are unsure of ourselves and thus are sensitive to the accusation. It is as though we are moved to help by the grace of God even with our hands cut off.

I've heard it said that the best solution for Haiti would be to evacuate the country and bring the people here. In the meantime we could rebuild the nation. Sounds plausible; even practical. But already there is a vocal political opposition in place that would balk at the mass influx of potential Democrat voters. "Spend the money now and keep them there," they say, "because in the long run it will cost us more to have them on our welfare rolls."

What is necessary now is decisive leadership that is capable of assigning priorities and cutting red tape. Additionally, this leadership must have the support and trust of the people both here and in Haiti. Currently we have neither. We don't have leadership as to what to do with the people of Haiti specifically, and we don't trust our own leadership to do the right thing in any case. The election of Barack Hussein Obama has rendered us leaderless. We, as they, are entirely on our own. If the result of the election tonight in Massachusetts does not confirm this fact, nothing will.

Dubai: A Cautionary Tale

What’s happening in Dubai exposes the fundamental problems that exist in many (if not all) of the oil-rich Middle Eastern nations. It should also serve as a cautionary tale for the U.S.

Dubai’s vaults are said to be bursting with gold and foreign currency; the UAE sits on a virtual sea of ‘black gold’ – all of it valueless. For decades the country has survived in gaudy opulence off the sweat on the backs of foreigners – mostly people from the Indian communist state of Kerala - who were restricted from integrating with the broader Arab society. UAE citizens themselves do not work. Work is beneath them. They subsist off of oil revenues that the world sends them by the buckets. Whereas the world uses ME oil in the furtherance of work (building/creating…), Dubai simply pays others to do what needs doing.

These ‘others’, mostly Indians…, send the bulk of their earnings back home where it is used to sustain families in a communist state that cannot provide sufficient work for its own people.

This Dubai snapshot should settle the argument about the definition of ‘wealth’ once and for all. Wealth is not gold, oil or currency. It has little to do with ‘social justice’. Wealth without ‘value’ is nothing. And value can only be derived from human work. Any people who devalue work, or create so many obstacles as to make work impossible; any nation that diverts the just rewards of honest work by erratic, self-serving re-distributionist policies will end up with nothing.

During WWII, parts of both, Germany and Japan, were physically bombed into oblivion, their populations decimated. Yet, both countries had a work ethic which bombs could not destroy. In relatively few years, both countries were back on their feet. Look at Dresden today; look at Hiroshima!

The desert will reclaim Dubai once the West no longer has need of its oil. America will revert back to the wilderness it was before the pilgrims came should it persist in reducing education to mere propaganda (and cult worship); making work unprofitable; punishing exceptional talent or effort outright; creating a sheep-like mentality in a people who would otherwise bust their britches in trying to outdo each other .

Most of the Indian workers in Dubai have been sent home. The communist state of Kerala still does not have jobs for them. They will fan out across the subcontinent to find work – not at Dubai’s generous rates but enough, perhaps, to put food on the table back home – and the hollow, reverberating social fallout of fatherless houses will continue.

I Will Go to Prison

It’s sad to know that the gravity of all these lessons of history remains unknown and unappreciated by the young people here in America. The other day, I happened to read an account of the fall of the Berlin wall on the opinion page of our local NJ newspaper (which continues to show up at our doorstep like an abandoned child). In it, all the credit went to Gorbachev; the name, Ronald Reagan, was never mentioned once. I understand too that our president refused an invitation by the German government to represent America in ceremonies commemorating the liberation of the East German people.

Meanwhile, here in America we're going precisely in the opposite direction. Our people (including the unborn, the ones we will choose not to abort) are being systematically enslaved to outrageous debt. It won't be long before the walls along our own borders will go up as well. These will be built to keep us in, not to keep others out. For once, our government will not dither as it has.

I will go to prison rather than comply with the health care mandate passed by our representatives last night.
