Released in 1967 as a single, Pete Townsend was said to have been upset that the song didn't do better on the charts. He'd thought he'd had a winner - worthy of gold or even platinum. I tend to agree, the song is great. It ranks right up there along with the Stones' "Street Fighting Man". Rare such songs, even in an era when such songs were touted as routine.
