Film of the day: The Counterfeiters
‘Category Error' once again. I always enjoy sparring with you, Spencer, when you are lucid. Actually, I am in full agreement with the rhetoric you quote; only, it no longer applies to our post-Obama times. Think of the world as being upside down. It is a far greater lie to say black is white, up is down, what happened in Honduras was a coup, to remain silent about the outrages in Tibet and Iran, to leave one's allies fate in the hands of their enemies, to coddle tyrants, to deliberately destroy one's own currency, etc. than it was saying, "there was a good chance...; there might have been...; there was (but it's not there now) WMD in Iraq”.
I too espouse the virtues enumerated in your ‘American (plain)speak', but, if Obama said it, you know its a lie. The evidence is all around. And if anyone else said it, you know they've been duped or drugged by the Obama Kool-Aid. Read the WSJ today. There are articles about how (especially) the poor are suffering under Obama's radical policies; how the U.S. ambassador is practically the only one there characterizing what happened in Honduras as a ‘coup’ ...and so much more. No, for all his rhetoric, Obama is leading us down the wrong path. We follow cheerfully because we are lied to daily and asked to willingly suspend our disbelief; to see what doesn't exist or see what we see as something else.
Yesterday, I saw ‘The Counterfeiters’ (’07) that dramatizes Operation Bernhard, the Nazis’ attempt to print so much British and American currency as to sink the economies of their most potent adversaries. They almost did it. It still holds the record as being the largest counterfeiting operation in history. The Nazis might have succeeded, had they been able to persuade these countries to run their own printing presses non-stop; to flood their own economies with worthless paper – as we are doing now. Tell me again that the Obama administration is not out to destroy us – and along with it, any and all hope the world might have to save itself.
